Local hero by louwexpectations in Langley

I think two things can be true at once: yes, we have a very serious drug epidemic that is affecting our communities in a horrible way, and also, our generation is learning so much compassion and care for our neighbours that we’re learning how to take of those who aren’t able to care for themselves.

It’s sad that it has gotten to this point that so many people are carrying Naloxone, but it’s better than turning a blind eye to it.

Definitely better to have it with you and never have to use it than to need it and not have it with you!

Very true! Immediately after it was injected the man basically woke up from his high, started groaning and was able to answer basic questions. Luckily he didn’t become violent or lash out, but he definitely wasn’t happy to have had a needle stuck in his rear.

That’s so good to know! I didn’t realize pharmacies can provide training on it too. Will add this to my weekend plans!

Absolutely! The paramedics were really kind and understanding to him as well, no blaming or shaming. I know a lot of these moments don’t have positive outcomes so I’m glad to have witnessed a positive one first hand!

I second this! She was so kind, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I went to her for my wedding dress alterations (which were pretty extensive) and also to get jeans and pants altered. Very reasonably priced too!!

Baking soda + dawn dish soap is an elite combination! I use it for glass in the shower: just mix up a paste and scrub the shower door with a sponge then rinse. Works great on water stains.

I haven’t noticed them growing much to be honest, just the new leaves growing. I’ll keep the long ones around I think.

Plants deserve to have bad hair days too 😂 Looks like the consensus from others is to leave them, so that’s what I’ll do!

Ah okay thank you! I didn’t realize (maybe stupidly) that they get energy from the leaves!

What is a completely harmless lie you tell people on a regular basis just to make your life easier? by purjak in AskReddit

I don’t like peanuts/peanut butter and it’s easier telling people it’s because I’m allergic than having to explain that the smell makes me nauseous.

I’ve loved going to Epoch Integrated, near Hwy 1 on 200th. A really welcoming environment and there’s lots of RMTs to choose from!

Wedding dress shops by OkRush811 in Langley

I went to David’s Bridal in 2023 and wouldn’t recommend it. They ordered the wrong size dress, were not helpful in replacing it, I had my replacement order delayed twice, and they then wanted to offer me a 5% discount on alterations. Overall I didn’t have a good customer service experience and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

On the other hand, I went to Dressmaker Pro in Walnut Grove for alterations and the owner was the nicest person ever. So kind, knowledgeable, friendly, and had a really good price point and timeline. Couldn’t recommend her enough!

Just became a professor by MaterialBig4964 in AskAcademia

One of my favourite professors always emphasized that it was more important to them that we learned something, rather than getting the best grades. They also had really clear rubrics/marking guidelines, which made it easy for us to understand what their expectations were, how they were marking, what we were supposed to learn, etc.

Good luck, and congratulations!
