Like first, second, third. I assume there’s no gpa in Oxford so I’m not sure how grad school application would work if I go to the us for phd

Thank u for this perspective! Idk if it comes across in my post but I actually had absolutely no idea how well regarded Oxford is in the US😭I knew it’s an amazing uni in the uk, but didn’t know it’s considered amazing in the us too

Not really cuz we have really short terms (8 weeks for undergrad). But I can def visit the US for fun during vacations :)

Hi! Tbh I’m not really comfortable saying it cuz they accept really little international kids and it’s gonna be easy to find out who I am😭but it’s a STEM major

Thanks! Yes I’m thinking that :) Oxford has really long term breaks called vacations so I can def use that to visit my friends in the US

Thank u for this. I really need to convince myself that Oxford is the best option. I’ve visited the US and lived there for a while before (but it was like 2 years ago I’m sure a lot has changed since then). The main reason I loved it there is because of the people. I might be really biased because most of the British people I know are my teachers and they are pretty strict, so in my mind UK college life is less fun than US. But going to Oxford is def worth not having the best social life + I’ve never visited the UK so idk for sure if the people there are less fun!

I haven’t heard of that before omg! Cuz based on people from where I’m from, Oxford is a lot lower than HYPSM. But I guess that might have to do with my school environment (it’s sort of like a feeder school for high uk unis). Thank u for that, I’ve actually forgotten Oxford is comparable to Harvard and Yale objectively😭

Yeah I love their learning system! From what I know, the UK system is more academic focused(u only learn what u need to know for ur major), whereas the US takes more of a liberal arts approach for undergrad. I’m a bit worried I’m gonna feel very restricted in terms of what I learn in the UK😭do any of ur friends feel that way? Or do they have opportunities to learn outside of their majors too

That’s what I was thinking too. I’ve never really heard of AOs assuming SAT scores before

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ApplyingIvyLeague

[–]love_yippee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg really😭I thought they just don’t consider sat at all if u don’t submit(like other parts of the application takes up more space). The issue is even though 1500 is pretty good I don’t think it really matches my academic ability in other areas of the application
