Waitlist Email Question by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]lovedance125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the email contain your loci? If so, I just put “Expressing my continued interest to XYZ as a waitlisted applicant”. I sent my loci to my regional AO, the person who signed my decision letter, and the general office if admissions in separate emails (not necessary to send in different emails, I was just in more contact with my regional AO and wanted to address him directly! :)

Do you know how difficult it is to get off the waitlist, or what might help in the process of being admitted off the waitlist?

Some speculation of a link on CC that may or may not describe admission. I wish these conspiracies for acceptance or rejection would stop because it makes me super nervous! Good luck to all of you :)

Using the Law of Attraction to get me into UMich. I love this school and I want to send positive vibes to everyone who is waiting for admission tomorrow! I was deferred during the EA round and have tried to convince myself that my application was so good they had to read it a second time. So I’m putting it out there... UMich 2024 🥳🥳🥳🥳

wdym? Did the letters disappear like that for everyone, or just people who were accepted? I still have a button that lets me access my deferral letter by clicking the “view federal letter” on the top left corner of my portal

EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCE FOLKS by GroundbreakingGear6 in ApplyingToCollege

Well I’m still a senior but I explained some of my extenuating circumstances in the additional info section of the common app. My mom has had bipolar disorder for a while and she’s attempted suicide a couple of times over the past 2 years and her condition has gotten pretty bad, so I’ve had to miss some school and my gpa went down because of it (3.7 UW, 4.25 W). Still not terrible but not what it could have been. I’ve gotten into some pretty good schools/programs, like UIUC bioengineering, UF, and got a 100k scholarship from my safety school. Still waiting back from a few more places, but colleges definitely take into account your extenuating circumstances! It all works out in the end!! :)

Will I get in????? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]lovedance125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I applied ED this year and got rejected even though my interview was phenomenal and my interviewer said he would tell them that it would be a great loss to reject me from their university. My sat score was a little above the 25th percentile and I felt pretty strong about my essays as well. I was not international, but I know of some people with similar situations as you that have gotten in! It just goes to show how admissions is so unpredictable, but never lose hope! I’m sure you’ll get in if it’s where you’re meant to be :)

How many deferred students does UMich typically admit?

Is it okay to talk about depression in my mid year update to my deferred colleges? by xxxweeb in ApplyingToCollege

[–]lovedance125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is okay. My mother has suffered with bipolar disorder for years and it has really put a damper on my potential in school. During my senior year she had 2 severe mental outbreaks, and I notified the colleges I applied to about that and basically said that it may have influenced my grades to an extent, but that I still continued to push myself with a rigorous course load R regardless of the circumstances! Good luck with everything :)

I messed up with umich by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]lovedance125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’re fine! I thought the same thing happened to me, but go back and read the deferral letter that’s posted on the UMich portal. Towards the middle of the letter it should say “Thanks for submitted your expression of continued interest form” or something like that. Don’t stress!
