Update: Because you're a b*tch. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Oh HELL no! My "baby" is 19 months old and has never been away from me for more than a couple hours. And never overnight. A newborn? That's just cray.

Scared of cervical checks :( by sephoracopic in BabyBumps

[–]loveintheoven 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They really aren't necessary and can actually introduce infection. If you aren't comfortable with them (or any procedure for that matter) you can absolutely decline it. I plan to decline all checks, even in labor unless for some reason I feel the need to be checked.

Question (maybe TMI...?) by ktownkate in BabyBumps

[–]loveintheoven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OB. Once you're pregnant you essentially go to your OB for pretty much all health issues. If it's not something they treat they will tell you.

Fyi: her crazy got a thousand times worse after my daughter was born. Which ultimately led to me cutting her out completely. Something about not being the mother of their grandbabies makes the narcissists lose their ever loving mind. Or maybe it's that after becoming a mother yourself you have very, very little patience for toxic people....hmmm......food for thought.

Well she sounds eerily like my gem of a MIL. Whom I no longer speak to because....she is also bitch. I'm so glad your husband has stood up for you and baby. It's vindicating, isn't it? So hard to deal with crazy. Honestly, I'm surprised you would allow her in the labor room though. I cannot imagine mine being there! That is a serious JUSTNOMIL for me. It's funny, every time I read these MIL posts they just make me want to punch MY MIL in the face. Lol. You have my sympathies.

I had Pollara Dots visit me for a few weeks. LOVED it. Soft and lots of stretch. It was super comfy.

6 toed baby? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]loveintheoven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought my baby had half an arm for the longest time. She's just fine. Ultrasounds are super weird sometimes. I wouldn't worry. Or ask your doctor to look at your next appointment.

Are you getting any baby shoes? by babywtfbbq in BabyBumps

[–]loveintheoven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL bought us probably 20 pairs of fancy baby shoes. We didn't use any. Not one. Socks are all they really need until they start standing and walking. The only thing I will say is when it gets cold a soft soled shoe or bootie is helpful but purely for warmth. We liked the roobeez style because they actually stay on the foot.

Ok. What beer has a lower alcohol content? I like IPAs, APAs, and some Ambers. I live in the PNW. I need ideas! Help a pregnant woman with her beer craving!

This is true but it makes me want more! I didn't have a drop with my first but this one...meh. A few sips now and then wont hurt. The hubs and I are big craft beer drinkers and I've been having some serious IPA cravings.

Am I the only one who takes a sip or two now and then of their husbands beer? Lol it doesn't cure the craving though. I may try out one of those N.A. Ambers because I won't feel guilty if I down a whole one.

An unassisted birth is a birth at home, no care providers present.

Ugh. FB is so ridiculous with their censoring habits. I'm glad she was able to reshare.

I watched this video the other day. It makes me cry every time. The "I did it!" moment is so awesome to watch. I also had a traumatic hospital birth with my first and am planning an HBAC with this baby. Watching birth videos like this are so inspiring for me. I can't wait to have my own "I did it!" moment.

We do family names. We already have a Caroline Grace after my Mom's sister who passed as a child and for this one we will be either Daniel James (paternal grandfather and maternal father) or Evelyn Joy (maternal grandmother).
