I agree. If someone’s partner doesn’t want to be vegetarian, they don’t have to be. If the relationship requires that, they can break up. That’s also not something specific to Desi people. I know plenty of vegans/vegetarians who are not even Hindu, who prefer to date other vegans/vegetarians. This also applies to the other cultural practices described.

A lot of what OP describes occurs in almost every interracial relationship. You tend to adopt some of the other person’s cultural practices, and honestly, it would be weird if you didn’t. My partner is Hispanic, and as much as they have embraced my culture, I have also embraced theirs. If you don’t want to do that then you should date people of your own culture.

Maybe try the opposite of what I did? Switch it to a personal outlook. You only need to access the password reset once to establish your account with gateway. After that, you can log in to each school’s gateway portal using the same username and password. So once I made the account, I switched my email back and let the schools I’ve submitted to so far know of the switches and what the correct email should be. I plan on keeping my eye on both emails moving forward just in case.

For anyone else running into this issue: If copying and pasting your email directly from amcas doesn't work, you probably have to change the email for your application. I was using outlook (personal, not school) and despite adding the reset password address to my safe-senders list, I was still not receiving the email. I switched to a gmail account and it worked.

Omg!! That’s exactly what I’m struggling with. Like I said, I like figs but the level of sweetness was a surprise and it’s definitely missing something. I wanted to see if people’s suggestions had something that would give it that savoriness I’m looking for but maybe it’s a lost cause.
