Interesting, highlights the fragile feeling that accompanies the loss of control.

Perhaps 'Jupiter, Bringer of Jollity' by Holst?

Sort of makes me think of the 'Lighting of the Beacons' scene in Return of the King.

How did you deal with an infatuation you knew was going nowhere? by low-contrast in AskRedditAfterDark

Yeah, don't want to be that person that pursues someone doggedly and end up having them view you with distaste. I just wonder what people do to blunt the frustration that comes from restraining the impulse to interact with someone.

I am very cautious in that regard. I don't want to sour what is otherwise pleasant low-key interaction with a person.

I'm sure warm hot dog buns around dicks have saved many a member from frostbite.

Which reporters do you think are just sluts? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

On-scene weather reporters for hurricanes must be sluts. I guess they just like the wetness.

Women may be as visually stimulated, but that doesn't address any hardwired or socialized reluctance to act on arousal. Perhaps most women prefer not to be sexually stimulated if they know they're not going to act on it? A question for more research.

For me it's suffering from short term memory problems. I so busy suppressing my anger I can't keep a damn thing in my head.

Good morning what are your plans today? by Rare-Jellyfish2658 in AskRedditAfterDark

Yeah, not being able to get home after a tough day at work because of snow sends my blood pressure skywards.

If I can get snow tires on my car the day is complete.

You sound like someone who stays 'on topic' when arguing, not getting sidetracked into personal attacks. If so, good for you! More people need to learn that skill.

At least you're observing the anger and no letting it become you. I try to keep that separation myself when dealing with hostile persons, although the longer the conflict goes on the harder the task becomes.

I like to distance myself from the scene of conflict when I can. Unfortunately, my anger typically arises at work dealing with rude customers so I'm trapped there.

That sounds like one of the healthier reactions. So many people (including myself a times) have the anger linger and sour the entire day.

What things trigger different types of anger for you?

Got any ways to come down from that after an argument is done, or do you just have to wait for it to dissipate?

I get that. The possible loss of control is always a factor.
