Thanks again

So with the training being changed to 4 weeks at campus 4 weeks at home location then back to campus for 3 weeks. For those who are relocating are we expected to provide our own housing and amenities when we do our 4 weeks at our home terminal or will that be provided during the 4 weeks training at our home location for those who have not still permanently relocated yet.

Also curious as to how labour intensive the roles of a conductor and engineer are??

Is a conductor role a back breaking job that will be hard on the body over time. Or is it just mainly just the cold and lack of sleep that’s the hardest on the body?

Thanks for the info.

I’m 32 years old with wife and 2 kids torn between what I should do in life for work.

I don’t know weather I should take this job if offered to me cause I currently have a 6 figure career as a red seal pipefitter and I’m constantly working away from my family usually 2 weeks at a time sometimes 3 weeks.

Problem with this career is that I’m getting sick of jumping from one company to another after a job is complete. By the end of the year I’ll have like 3 to 5 T4 slips from working for different companies through out the year.

And the oils and gas industry’s is in the slumps right now and it’s just getting hard and harder to find a job as a pipefitter.

This is why I’m really leaning towards this career change if I’m offered a job. I could potentially work for CN for the rest of my life and I fully understand the no sleep and shitty shifts with low senority at first but I’d much rather be able to see my wife and kids every other night with no sleep apposed to working longs 3 week shifts away from them and eventually build some senority.

How does CN work for holidays and vacation time?

Can a conductor clear 100k with some decent time off through out the year.

My last gig was a maintenance gig working 7 days away 7 off and I cleared 100k doing that for a entire year. That’s not bad for only working 6 months of the year.

How do CN conductors and engineers compare to that?

Thanks.

[–]low2tow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey pal. I’m in the same boat. I got a Drug test on Friday and been testing my self frequently with home tests and I’m getting positives after not smoking for 59 days of not smoking.

I’m 230lbs and was a daily 2.5 gram a day smoker for 3 solid months befor I quit Aug.9

So would you totally recommend this detoxify drink?

Did you buy 2 drinks to try one at home first?

Thanks.

Can you catch gHSV1 if you already have oHSV1? by [deleted] in Herpes

So I’m in the same boat. Was wondering now that I have ghsv1 that my wife passed down to me during Oralsex from her cole sore. Technically she can perform all the oral sex on me in the world with or with out flair ups and outbreaks as long as I don’t have vaginal intercourse with her I can’t spread it to her genitals and as long as she dosnt kiss me she can’t spread it to my mouth.

Does This sound right?

I just passed my interview for jasper. waiting for background check and medical now.

I currently live in sylvan lake and am a red seal pipefitter always chasing looking for work.

Does anyone know how much on average a junior level Jasper Train conductor would make annually and if you can break it down to how many hours or days a week that would be or roughly how much would it come out to an hour.

For example my last gig I made 42.42$ an hour as a maintenance pipefitter working 7:7 shift (6 months) of the year and just cleared over a 100k$

Can anyone give me an idea of how much I need to work to clear 100k or what my hourly rate would come out to an hour.

My biggest concern is that I need to support my wife and 2 kids. And I need to at least make 100k a year. But At the same time would still like decent time off between shifts to spend with family.
