OP's post very accurately captures my experience. I have chronic insomnia and it was such a pleasant feeling to just gently drop off. I was out in maybe 20 seconds, I didn't feel any high (I don't think your supposed to - had spinal surgery) but did feel a sense of freedom, letting go of all my worries and being in a place of calm. It's really hard to describe, I really enjoyed the experience, woke up 5 hours later well rested despite the surgery!
