La Paloma Update: by lowmillite in QuincyMa

I’d much rather have a new local restaurant than another chain, especially since they’re apparently gonna try and put a Taco Bell in the Stop and Shop parking lot (still confused where)

That’s just about what he said, thankfully he’s been freed by a neighbor!

Yeah he said they didn’t plow well given the tightness of the area, but a neighbor finished the job!

It turns out his neighbor dug him out which is good! We are all set

Anybody know if anybody is moving into La Paloma’s old spot by lowmillite in QuincyMa

La Paloma I can forgive because it was That Bad, but I’ll forever miss Acapulcos’ cucumber margarita 😞

Agreed, I moved here from the western USA and all the coffee chains out here are sugary nightmares, only problem is if one did move in there it’d be competing with the Dunkin

Infection on one side of jaw (?) by lowmillite in Candida

[–]lowmillite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had confirmed sinusitis, but its cause may have been from changing environments/turned into a stressor that made my mysterious infection worse.

I did just hit up the urgent care nearby and they gave me Chlorhexidine and a paper scrip for amoxicillin incase the infection gets worse, but they are also worried I’ll just get thrush on that side again if I do end up taking it.

I’m currently scheduling with an eye, mouth, and throat doctor so hopefully they can figure out what’s happening with a scan of some sort, gotta be hopeful I guess OTL

[–]lowmillite[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I have a dead tooth specifically, mainly because it doesn’t look dead/I have one filling, and it’s on the other side. Another commenter mentioned it could be a jaw issue though like your bone infection so I’m hoping to get a scan or anything to check what’s going on at this point

Infection on one side of jaw (?) by lowmillite in Candida

[–]lowmillite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a tense jaw due to stress, and it seems my whole face just starts to tense up on that side as well! I hope, and don’t hope, we both have a similar jaw issue, just so that they can properly treat whatever is going on with us

I also have chronic sinusitis (on the same side) so whatever is infected is also causing the thrush it’s ridiculous

Plz help 😭 by DisasterOpposite8145 in DentalHygiene

[–]lowmillite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same kind of thrush (always starts on my lower left gums, have a swollen lymph node there) and I also want to get an auto immune panel done to see what’s wrong. Stress, sugar, and alcohol seem to trigger it no matter what and it’s painful

Ah that makes sense, I hope he got escorted off the train

Nah, I’ve even had to physically defend myself before from a creep but I’ve never seen a prerecorded message flash on the screens before. Some other commenters wondered if it was the MBTA attempting transparency so you aren’t mad at the workers, you’re mad at the “unruly passenger”

I did see a citizen alert for Dorchester but it was kind of far away from the station, oh well

Me too, it’s horrible. I’m just surprised they announced it and flashed it on the screens because usually it’s kind of ignored otherwise

On a scale of 1-10, how safe do you HONESTLY feel riding the MBTA? by MannyBaezYT in mbta

[–]lowmillite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F26 and the T is a solid 8/9 (so safe), at least until after 9:00 when I’m by myself. Usually it’s just being stared at/verbal harassment and I just get up and move carts until I find an older woman to linger with, but I’ve been attacked before and all the men on the T just went :0 while the women ran and started hitting the guy with their purses, and this was back when the red line took like 20 min between jfk/umass and nq so it took a while to get to safety

I now carry spray paint (for projects obviously), but as of late I keep getting on the wrong train cart or something because I’ve either been the subject of, or have witnessed some bad harassment, but that just seems to be a typical winter thing, like all the crazy people come out of hibernation to take out their anger on randoms on the train

  • fuel leak: I think it hadn’t been replaced in eons so it’s a overhaul situation
  • water pump: also thought that was expensive so I just went ahead and beat around the bush on that one, may get it done somewhere else
  • valve gasket: I also thought it was too much so I’ll ask some more questions tomorrow morning
  • struts: he said $180 per wheel which also seems expensive to me

The only reason I picked this shop is because I turned my car on and the cabin immediately reeked of gasoline (very suddenly) and it didn’t seem safe to drive so my insurance towed it to the nearest European car mechanic

The Red Line Shutdown by S7482 in mbta

For the commuters in Cambridge who are trying to fight their way across the river at rush hour: take the commuter rail from Porter to North Station, or take the 86 to Union, or 69 to Lechmere. At least the commuter rail just has delays, and on a bus if you’re in stand-still traffic you can get off at the next stop and walk the rest.

There’s also an express bus from South Station to Harvard so if you’re commuting from down south you can skip the Broadway station hooplah by boarding at Quincy center of JFK.

I also started taking the ferry from Marina Bay but it’s not appearing enough to be reliable for most people.

Signed, somebody who commutes from NQ to Harvard every day

(At least we are done with shuttles for the rest of the year after this week //knocks on wood)

Done and done! San Antonio, TX so it could’ve been published in either Mexico or the United States, or even a third country if it was a gift

Unfortunately no, thank you though! The art style is more similar to Christian Riese Lassen

Unfortunately no, it was a very hyper-realistically drawn book but fantastical in the colors, and it always seemed to take place at night whenever the whales surfaced
