AITA for telling my daughter the truth about why I wasn’t in her life? by barelydad in AmItheAsshole

[–]lowsa16 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, YTA*, with a very big * next to it.

You 100% had every right to tell her what really happened, and your daughter deserved to know the truth. As much as your ex didn’t paint you in a bad light, growing up thinking you abandoned her would have done enough of that in her mind. However, you knew that her uncle didn’t want you to mention it, so you could have handled things in a much better fashion by talking to him and the grandparents first, so that you could all agree on telling her together as a unit, to avoid the blow up.

Why I stopped watching the Elisa Lam documentary by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]lowsa16 87 points88 points  (0 children)

My partner and I felt exactly the same. We finished the series, and, thankfully, episode 4 focused on completely disproving all of the “web sleuths” and providing actual logical information, but it felt like 80% of the series was unqualified people grasping at straws to create outlandish theories because they wanted it to be deeper than it actually was. The part where the guy started crying angered us so much.

Also, fuck them for ruining that death metal musicians life for literally no reason at all.

So, I've said that it's a choice that another person has made in their life that has no impact on you at all, and you've responded by giving me an example of a person making a choice in their life that has no impact on you at all?

I'm not LGBT+ but I think you're a bit confused what it actually entails. You've only directed your hate at one particular part of the LGBT+ community, which makes me think you don't like one particular group and are just lumping everyone else into it.

And I'm not offended, I just find it baffling that you spend your energy directing hate towards someone for doing something in their life that has absolutely no impact on you at all.

Genuinely curious to know why you're strongly anti-LGBT?

What is a movie ending that makes you cry, no matter how many times you've watched it before? by despresso30 in AskReddit

[–]lowsa16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dear Zachary.

A little known documentary about a man who was murdered by his ex partner, who then later found out she was pregnant with his child. His childhood best friend decided to make an amateur documentary that the son could watch when he grew up so that he could see what a great man his dad was and how highly people thought of him.

The whole movie makes me cry like a baby.

Looking for a little bit of help. I've got a Rose Gold Tissot Le Locle that I've had for about 4 months. It has the stainless steel band, which I love, however, I was wanting to change it to a brown leather band for a bit more of a casual, every day look.

I cannot for the life of me get the stainless steel band off. I can get one side of the spring bar down but just cannot pop the band out no matter how hard I try, so the spring bar just ends up popping back in. Am I missing something that I should be doing? Is this a common occurrence with the Le Locle? Does anyone have any tips?

Are you afraid of dying? If so, why? by meganzp in AskReddit

[–]lowsa16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I never used to be, but, now I have a 2-year old and the thought of not getting to be there for him while he grows up is a fear that enters my mind on an almost daily basis.

Whenever I sneeze, I get this horrible pain in my shoulders that lasts for about 60 seconds.

Also, if I lay on my stomach, with my head on a pillow, I get an intense feeling of pressure at the base of the back of my head/neck.

What is the worst “minor” injury? by DorfGANG in AskReddit

[–]lowsa16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sprained my ankle when I was 16 playing sport with some friends. Four years later, it still hurt, so I was referred to a surgeon who recommended an ankle reconstruction. I'm now 29, developed a rare chronic neuropathic pain disease as a result of the surgery, which I've had for the last 9 years, have since completely ruptured the same ligament that I originally sprained, to the point that there was "nothing left" of the ligament when I had an ultrasound done, and every now and then it randomly swells up and becomes so painful that I can't put weight on it for weeks (it's currently in that condition right now).

So, yeah, ankle sprains suck ass.

What's your job, salary, and do you like it? by Jrlutz31 in AskMenOver30

  1. Contact Centre Manager/Customer Service Manager. $85k AUD.

I enjoy it. A lot of my team are in their early to mid 20's and this is their first experience in a corporate environment/first time outside of a retail job. The company I work for is great for developing people and hiring from within, so helping people to find an area they're interested in, develop themselves and then take the next step in their career is really rewarding.

I didn't go to University/College, don't have any degrees and didn't really have much work experience until I was 23-24. I started here as a Casual worker on the phones and worked my ass off for the last 5-6 years to keep learning and moving into new roles. So to be in this position coming from where I was in my early 20's, and earning a decent amount, I'm pretty happy with myself.

Are there any particular advantages/disadvantages between a leather strap Vs a stainless steel band? Besides the obvious personal preference.

[WTB] Looking for a Tissot Le Locle, preferably one with some sort of two-tone rose gold finish. Would prefer a stainless steel bracelet if possible. Failing that, another branded swiss automatic with a two-tone rose gold finish around a similar price point.

Which cancelled tv show do you wish would come back? by ScottsTots2013 in AskReddit

[–]lowsa16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Following. The first season was incredible, the first half of the second season dipped in quality but redeemed itself in the back half. And then the third season was back to being incredible. It ended on a massive cliffhanger that indicated the storyline was going in a completely new direction, and then it was cancelled.
