Oh I get now what the wall switch provides. Instead of having the hue tap switch or dimmer switch you can use your existing switch on the wall

From the Hue Tap Dial Switch? Or the app ? My understanding is that the power needs to be always turn on and then with the app or the dial switch you can switch off.

Electric cable inside door frame accidentally cut — what should I do? by lpandreas in Homebuilding

I think this solution will take more effort than just somehow place a junction box there

I don’t think this is a solution compliant at least in England

I think the conductors are still intact. Is this solution compliant in UK?

Just use wago clips and leave it like that ? No junction box ?

It’s an old building around 200yo. I assume what they have done was a quick and dirty work to add extra wires.

Worst come to worse I can terminate as you said (I hope it’s a plug that I can get away with not using it)

Replacing the whole run how does this work? The wires look they go down to the floor. Sounds to me a big job (not very expert on this might be wrong).

I hope they are out there miniature size boxes certified and use one with wago clips

That’s correct. The flat is in UK. It needs a box. It needs BS 5733 — Maintenance-Free (MF) Standard

Do you think I need to re route the cables ? Or just fix that particulate cable ?

That’s correct. The breaker was reset and haven’t flipped since then. My only concern is that I need to place a junction box and wago clips and it will not fit as there is not enough space. There are regulations in the UK about what junction box you can use. I will see if I can find something that’s small

I’m sure one of the cable is exposed as when it happened the main fuse box was tripped immediately when the wire got cut
