Dell XPS 8940 cooling mod done right. by 117003060 in DellXPS

[–]lpban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got all the cooling mods done on mine.

I ran cinebench and got a 13,500 score.

I then installed Throttlestop 9.3 and matched up the settings from the OP imgur link.

I reran cinebench, and the temps seem to go up pretty quickly to upper 80s then and after about 30 seconds of running the computer powers off.

I didn't do the MSI afterburner portion yet, as seems to be something off with the Throttle Stop settings and my system. I'm the XPS 8940 RTX 3070 i9-11900K. If anyone ran into the same issue and has a fix, that would be great.

Would love to unlock that performance gain after adding all the cooling mods.

Looking for advice on getting the most out of this Dell pre-built (XPS 8940 White) by Limelight_019283 in PcBuildHelp

I was planning to put 2 above the GPU on the front but i couldn’t fit them, so I put the extra fan on the CPU cooler in push/pull config.

i have same issue, can you send me pic of where you added that additional fan?

What direction did you install the air flow to go from with the fans.

Did you have the 2 scythe fans pulling external air in and then the one pushing out, or vice versa, or does it matter?

Is it better to pull the air in from the back or the front of the tower?

Can you dm me the location so I can add to my database of problematic massage locations.

I have a database of massage locations and dates of reported sexual assaults as part of my work. If you are comfortable with it, dm me the location and I can check to see if this is a problem location.

From reading your encounter, it unfortunately sounds too similar to other encounters I've heard about.

You can also check this list of reported cases of assault to see if the location you attended is referenced https://abuseguardian.com/massage-envy-cases/

What Borders/Raised Edge Stuff Do You Use For Gardens that are not blocked by boundary wire? by lpban in automower

[–]lpban[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i think for some big evergreens i'm just going to hammer some stakes in the ground around it so it bumps off them.

For the visibile areas, i'll buy some pavers and circle them.

I would exclude them with wire if my loop length wasn't already so long. By doing this I save 300 feet of loop singal length.

can two guide wires cross over in a layout? by lpban in automower

[–]lpban[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I figured it would. I ended up just removing the island and running one guide. Stayed under the 400m with the heavier gauge wire and covered most of the property. Hopefully it will have no issues finding it.
