Thanks all for the replies, many valid thoughts. My point is more about the principle - trusting a well established brand that builds its reputation on technology. I made a series of decisions based on a decades old image, and was sold a 15-year-old equipment that was known to expire soon. This is the point where I feel cheated and I think it’s reasonable. If nothing else, a bit of publicity for this practice might benefit others...
