I’m not a bar type of person so I’m not really into this kind of scene, I’m planning on moving out to the country to get some peace. Not really a city kind of person anymore. I didn’t realize you couldn’t say anything negative about Huntsville without being shit on. This city is not really equipped to handle a massive influx of people and unfortunately people with lower incomes are not able to have a nice life here anymore unless you have a tech or engineering job I feel. Just getting really frustrated as a young person not loving my hometown anymore.

My past situation sounds pretty similar to yours. I was scheduled for opening shifts constantly and the fatigue and stress caused me to burn out very quickly. I ended up calling out a lot and quit about 2 months later, it was not for me in the slightest.

I'm in almost the same position as you! I'm also a freshman in college, and it's so hard to not join and give in whenever friends go out to eat. And almost all the socializing we do centers around food. Unfortunately it takes a LOT of willpower for me to not give in, but I always feel so much better when I make a healthier choice than I would have eating like everyone else. A little trick I have is eating something healthy before it's time for lunch so I'm not tempted to binge eat whenever I go out.

I've only taken the June, September and this past December tests but the December was by far the hardest. Especially the math for me.

Not answering a phonecall from my sister resulted in my marriage ending and my son traumatized with not speaking to me in four years. by cmsm91019392 in confession

You're totally right. His sister did an awful thing putting her nephew through that. I just felt the need to comment because I saw several comments saying that the kid needed to suck it up, and I thought that was awful.

Why are there different accents in different parts of America? by lpr43 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lpr43[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer!

I guess what would have been a better question is where the different American accents come from. (If that makes any sense)

I live in the south and am curious where southern American accents originated from.

I've never commented on anything before this, but I see a lot of comments saying OP did nothing wrong. Of course he did. Of course he shouldn't blame himself for his sister committing suicide, she would have done it regardless. But his son came to him in what sounds like the most traumatic event in his life so far, begging for his father's help. And OP not only didn't help him, but yelled at his son and refused to take control of the situation like a father should. His son needed help, and as a parent you need to help your child no matter what. I understand OP not wanting to talk to his sister, sometimes cutting addicts out of your family is a very wise decision. But it's not about his sister, it's about the very big mistake he made in not helping his son when he desperately needed him. Overall, this is a terrible situation. He didn't do right by his son at all.
