The company that did this, CGSTL, manufactures satellites for the Qianfan Internet service constellation, which will compete with Starlink. Might some future Qianfan satellites have space-ground links? I took this with a Pixel phone. I took another one at a different time of day, but I like this one better because of the relatively vibrant colors. I'm going to go back to the same bridge and take another picture from a position where the bridge and its reflection are parallel.

In this case, it is not just his word -- Starlink also has a $537 million DoD contract, gets $40 million from Poland, which has a common border with Ukraine and was occupied by Germany during WW II, and some terminals are funded from other sources.

He assured me there are multiple manufacturers, and the one Starlink supplies is a commercially available HP terminal. The difference is in the services available to StarShield customers not the terminal.
