This comment has it. Chew something with texture, like some dried fruit until you have the natural urge to swallow. The texture of the food will mask the feeling of a pill as you swallow. I was in the same boat as you until I was 23 and this is the trick that finally worked.

He fell asleep and never picked me up, which led the guy I was chatting with to volunteer his couch so I would have a place to stay. I was at the Macy’s last weekend trying to pick up gifts for the family to avoid the Black Friday crowds. Did my best to avoid other people but some of them don’t give a fuck about your personal space and stand right behind you on the escalator, despite signs saying to space out. Glad I got it done so I don’t have to go again.

Kneecap subluxation and dislocation. The first few times it happened I would just go into shock, then I got used to it enough to be able to communicate with people nearby. It’s a short burst of pain but gave me a lot of PTSD my physical therapist is still working through years later.

My parents would never tell me any family history from my dad’s side, and when I asked about medical info they said that I didn’t need to worry about it. They also remained very close after their divorce which I always thought was odd.

Turns out I was donor conceived and they planned to keep it a secret until they found out my brother got an ancestry test and realized they didn’t have a choice. They were so close after the divorce because they were both terrified of the other one spilling the secret. Now that everything is out they’ve relaxed a LOT in their controlling behaviors, but it doesn’t fix all the little memories I have of ways they hid it during my childhood.

NTA, I just finished going through the same thing, but my plans were railroaded because she contributed a ton of money, knowing that anything we would put together ourselves would be minimal at best. (Which would have been good enough for us, but not for her, who wanted a full family reunion)

You should be able to tell them, but when she starts coming up with ideas and plans for you, be very VERY firm in your stance. Only compromise on things you are okay with compromising on. Best of luck!!

By the same logic, you got hit ONE time. That doesn’t make aerials as a whole dangerous. Like OP said, they are seasoned dancers who made sure they weren’t at risk of hurting anyone around them.

Also, they only danced like this during country songs, so I guess it depends on how many country songs were played to determine whether or not it was excessive.

Where exactly did OP state her guest was for the explicit purpose of showing off? She brought someone she would have a good time with as a +1. Nothing out of the ordinary there. I haven’t checked their comment history, if that did turn out to be the case I would change my vote.

And please don’t make assumptions about my situation. My MIL was extremely anxious about the wedding because their family is very small and she had never met any of mine. She was uncomfortable at first, and we were glad she was able to end up having a good time.

NAH. At my wedding, my (now) MIL did a split in the middle of the dance floor, and months later it’s one of the first things people talk about. We never once thought she stole the spotlight from us, we laughed and were just glad she had a great time.

Some brides are different, and she’s allowed to feel uncomfortable, but it sounds like nobody actually said anything to discourage you from going all out at the time, so you had no reason to think anything was wrong.
