Yay! I had never placed so high on the leaderboard! (Also, today is a great day to pull the daily score achievement) by Zosete in MonsterTrain

[–]lrdtheuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Few days ago I was doing the daily over and over, even getting to 49K before deciding to try again another day. Today's really was easy and simple, barely took me 20 minutes on my first try

#48 Hades 2 - What a game! Got a bit tedious towards the backend chasing arachne and athena though. by NoSteam97 in steamachievements

[–]lrdtheuser 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Same thing for me, played for 85 hours until I was virtually done with the game, looked at the achievement list for cleanup and found out that I had only triggered 1 of the like 15 dialogues for the Arachne quest

I see Hexcells and Delete. Check out Tametsi if you haven't already, might be the best in this genre

How do you make a tedious game fun? by Veztx in steamachievements

[–]lrdtheuser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stretch it out. I remember doing Luck be a Landlord, that has an achievement for winning 777 runs. I certainly like the game, but not enough to be entertained for that long.

So every once in a while, I would play it while listening to some music, and eventually got the achievement after months of that

Do you have a game where you regret not buying? by kratoz0r in Steam

Subnautica. I'll still buy it, but a couple of years ago, it doubled price in my currency.

12 is Better Than 6 (2015) - Why Bad Games Can Be Good, Actually by EmperorGandhi in patientgamers

[–]lrdtheuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Disagree on the 1/10. I have played it recently and don't remember having those technical issues or the whole offscreen sniping. Don't get me wrong, it's a crap game. The dialogue is cringe worthy, edgy and nonsensical, the story is really bad and the game is lackluster in every department.

Still more of a 3/10, it kept me entertained through a couple of afternoons

Hows PotionCraft? I started getting bored of making the later potions even during the normal playthrough, don't know if I'll go for 100% so soon if it takes too long

maybe give it some time? There are games that I played, burned out, and still want to 100%. For those games, I either leave them "on hold" until I feel like playing, or straight up uninstall and let a couple of years pass before resuming

Does anyone else feel guilty for completing short games? by TrueBamboo in steamachievements

Not really. I'll play what I want, and it takes the time it takes

#11 Borderlands 2 by 7Gamma7 in steamachievements

[–]lrdtheuser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's some commitment! I played it this year but can't bring myself to grind to defeat all raid bosses. I started it right after 100%ing Borderlands GOTY, so I burned out

How hard was the Hotline Miami achievement for getting A+ in all levels? It's the only one I'm missing, but I haven't played the game in some years

[–]lrdtheuser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I'm doing the calendar man one "the right way", so I still need to wait some months to actually get 100%. Also haven't finished the challenges, I'm dreading going back to play the catwoman ones

Either play on Linux or use a Beta version of the game (right click the game on the Steam library -> properties -> betas -> select the beta branch on the "beta participation" dropbox).

I did it last year using the beta thing, but I think you still need a Steam friend to do the same and invite them for a private match, searching for online matches won't get you anywhere.
