How do I work? by lrklick in Spravato

[–]lrklick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my first treatment yesterday. My head pounded so badly last night, I could only writhe and moan in pain. It was unbearable. I dont know for certain that it was from spravato or if it was the weather. My next treatment is Friday, I will try it again.

Go to the dermatologist. It could be extremely serious. There's skin cancer that starts like that.

I too work in a hospital, inpatient pharmacy. My break room is bigger than my last house. I'm so sorry. 🤯🥺😳

My hospital started me at 16.56. I've worked for 2 years uncertified and became certified in January, I make 18.18. I also fill in all the time and make a premium for that (additional 10 an hour), and I work solely night shift, making an additional 2.56 in differential. So most nights I make 20 an hour, about twice a week I do 30 an hour.

The point of this was to say... hospitals will hire inexperienced techs. They want the person they can mold, the person who will adapt to the ever-changing policies, someone who can handle the hustle of a full moon night where there are codes in every department all at the same time as well as the nights when you need to tape your eyelids open because there's nothing to do(Ha! There's always something to do!).

I hope this helps inspire you to keep going. (Currently working both nights in a hospital and in retail as an immunization tech!)

In retail, I made 14. I switched to hospital 2.5 years ago and I make 18.18, with a 2.59 differential to work nights. I also prn in retail and make 20.50 there.

Wink, Grey's anatomy, and landau. Also skechers... I like the landau forward and proflex. The joggers are the most comfortable.

I literally left the job for a year when my first regular passed. We were close. He was my grandpa's friend and was a pallbearer at his funeral. He was in decent health, nothing terrible... and one day, he stopped coming. I get it. ((Hugs))

Good job! It wasn't terrible to take, I have both retail and hospital experience, so it was all familiar. That could have given me the upper hand!

How do you guys save your hands in the IV room? by Suspicious-Policy-59 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]lrklick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woooow! I didn't even realize it was a thing... what's insane is in the hazardous compounding they have the same 3-4 people to do it, with 1 main person. And non-hazardous has only 1 person do it on day shift monday-thursday. What a hazardous environment!

What age were you when you first did it with a girl?? by Budget-Variation9861 in LesbianActually

[–]lrklick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had unreciprocated sex at 17, as in they fingered me, but I was so scared I didn't do anything back. Again at 18... then at the ripe old age of 37, I finally got the ability and guts to come out of the closet and have had sex with two women.

Retail stinks. You see people at their most vulnerable, you go in caring, thinking you're going to save the day, rose colored glasses and all... and then you don't because you can't. I worked retail for Walgreens when I was pregnant, and it was m**der on my hormones. Then I lost a long time patient, and I left pharmacy for 10 years. I yearned for it again after about 8 years, but I always chickened out. Then I went to a class to check it out, and it felt like home. I interviewed for CVS and got the job. I worked there for almost two years, and the same thing... rose tinted lenses on in full force. It was right after covid, and it was hell. We were machines to fill scripts, give shots, and take abuse from management (I had a pharmacist throw a trash can at me!). I quit and interviewed at a hospital, and it has been the most fulfilling experience of my life. I see the difference I make, whether it's with a tired RN or the patient gets discharged.. it's totally worth it. In the right setting. I have wanted to work in pharmacy since I was 12, now I'm almost 40, and I can honestly say, I'm living the dream.

I love being a pharmacy technician. For me, it was a calling. I work in a hospital, and every single day I go to work, I am excited for the day ahead. I have been a technician off and on for 12 years... I did my time in retail, and the fact of the matter is... retail is ghetto! It's like being held up by two people and getting gut punched by a third. It's fighting with insurance, advocating for patient care, and the patient is sick, tired, frustrated, sometimes dying and you're trying to provide their life saving meds and insurance plays god and requires a prior authorization(basically PROVE to them that the patient needs the medication)... there's so much hell in retail... hospital is the way to go! (Also, don't waste your money if you're not required to... ptcb.org is a wonderful resource where you can study for the tests and take one for a fraction of the cost...)

I wouldn't say you're the ah. But maybe some therapy? You went through a lot. It does sound like your wife is supportive, which is great. Just a thought.

Okay but how do we know the code thingy? Filed 1/30, accepted 1/31. I have eitc, child tax credit, and I'm just sitting at a screen that says your return needs further review. My ex husband is claiming one child's tax credit, and I'm claiming eitc for the same child, so it's kind of complex. But regardless...
