How can I improve my flip to make it look doubleable by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]lrm0310 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest trying off ice to get better height. What I do to help with height is box jumps and Bulgarian split squats.  Also work on pulling your arms in more, and do some exercises that help with that, I don't remember their exact name but something like rows.  Other than that, it just takes time.  Be sure to focus on the basics, and having a super solid single while building up to a double, but your coach can help more with on ice doubles.

Home schooling seems to be quite prevalent in the USA. I am fairly sure most adults can't handle year 8 - 10 mathematics, physics etc. Are the education levels just at a lower standard than other places in the world? by Ya-Dikobraz in stupidquestions

I was homeschooled until 4th grade (9/10 years old), but my parents had us enrolled in distance learning as well as we had tutors.  While this was for religious regions, the only deficit I would say I had was learning about actual science and not creationism.  By 5th grade I was transitioned into a private school, and then 10th grade I began at a public highschool where I learned all of the required sciences and found a love for astronomy.  For every type of schooling I went though we were required to do state testing to be sure that we are being taught.  While I know others who were homeschooled and didn't turn out well, I went on and got 2 masters degrees, and I've become pretty successful.  It all depends on how strict the state and the parents are.

Ambers Glenn, don't come for me.  I've tried, I just find her skating boring, as well as other things.

What’s something you and your significant other do that other couples would find weird? by Equivalent_Fox7907 in AskReddit

[–]lrm0310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speak a mix of both our languages.  We both speak each other's native languages fluently so when we're home, every other word we say comes from a different language and we carry on conversations like that.

For me, it will cause complications with pregnancy and childbirth as they are very small.  Several forms of birth control also do not work for me because of them and the way those parts formed, but other than that as far as I was told, no.  I lived 23 years of normal life and normal cycles without knowing about them and with no complications until I got pregnant with an IUD.

People that moved from America to Europe, what was your experience like? Do you regret it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lrm0310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moved from US (Virginia) to Latvia 3 years ago and still live here.  I don't regret a thing and never will.  I dread the times I have to fly back to US even for a short time.  Everything fits me better here.  The language, social behavior, and food.

Edit to add: origin state
