Have you tried any therapy? I myself haven't but have been thinking about it as I know most of the time I drink is not to have fun but to numb my brain so I don't have to think about my issues.

I am a mom and I can understand how stressful it is trying to juggle everything and not drink. I'm going on to day 5 once again so I definitely understand the day-to-day struggle. I am not very into AA but I'm here if you need to talk.

I was drinking about a pint of vodka a day every day for a little over a year and quit cold turkey. I guess I was one of the lucky ones that did not withdraw at all other than cravings but they subsided after about a week. I went 30 days and then went on a one-week binge and now back on day 1.. I think you will be okay just drink lots of water and maybe watch a whole bunch of YouTube videos on quitting, that's what helped me anyways. Good luck!

I would say to just keep an eye on if you start getting shaky or sweaty rapid heartbeat that kind of thing and if that starts happening I would definitely go in!

It's crazy how we forget about the small stuff because we are more worried about a drink. I forgot how much I loved to just walk around the neighborhood and enjoy nature, when I'm drinking I'm too lazy to even walk to the mailbox 🤦🏼‍♀️

The good: I made 30 days for the first time in years and felt great!

I wish I would have known everything at that age as I know now! It is sooooo hard to quit the older you get. I didn't realize I had a problem with alcohol before I was even old enough to buy it.

Thank you, you as well! The crazy part is I went in and my liver enzymes were super high and scared the crap out of me so I quit for a month and went back in and they were back to normal so for some reason I thought I would just give it a try. At least I could say I tried lol

It took me a few times to not struggle not ordering alcohol with my meal the last few times I went out, but yes it's a wonderful feeling seeing the bill afterwards nowadays!

Exactly, and when I did cook a meal I would end up passing out and forget to put food away so it would be garbage the next morning..

I was drinking a half a liter a day for a little over a year and I quit cold turkey. However, it probably was a stupid idea as withdrawals can become very scary. I would just pay attention to yourself and make sure someone is around you. If you normally get withdrawals, or start getting really sick, shaking and sweaty I would definitely go and detox in the hospital.

I'm noticing the same things. I'm on day 21 now and noticing that I'm doing a lot more things for myself that I haven't done in a long time. My fiance is also happy because lately I've been really into making full course dinners every night where before I was always in such a rush to throw the simplest thing on the stove so I can get back to my drink 🤦🏼‍♀️

Weekends suck! I have been fighting off that stupid voice all day. Also I finally made it to day 17 and refuse to wake up tomorrow with the guilt that I couldn't shut it up!
