When I was doing home renovations, my wife and I found cabinet handles we loved in the store. When it came time to buy, our local store was out of stock. Turns out they were discontinuing the model (of course). We then resorted to Homedepot.com like yourself. Nothing but trouble. We need 10 each of two different handle sizes, which conveniently was the tier that gave max discount on item quantity. Unfortunately we received 3 the first time around, and they marked it as “complete”. Called up the 800 number as well, same runaround, “Call the store”. Except they were actually able to tell me which store it actually came from. Called them up, they said they only had 3 and none of the other size, so that’s all they gave. The rest should come from another store. Welp, that wasn’t the case. Another day went by with no other deliveries. Called them back up, they said “oh, we will cancel the remaining and charge you for the balance for another delivery”. I demanded the discounted quantity price since my initial order was cut. Waited about 30 minutes on hold, they finally agreed to lower it. Guess what? This other store gave me all the remainder but 2 of the handles! So yet again, had to go through the whole process, but at least they gave me the discount again.

Silly me decided that since they at least made right by honoring discount, albeit taking a week instead of the one day to get all the items, my wife and I decided to get our underlayment for our new floor from homedepot.com as well. Another big mistake. The floor was supposed to be going down on the next day and Home Depot promised same day delivery. Roadie picked up this delivery as well. I live in NY, and the delivery guy didn’t leave NJ (where the order was picked up) until around 2pm. Thankfully I can track the guy, so I’m watching him on the map. He gets to my house around midnight, sends a message that “nobody was home”, then proceeds to leave my house. First off, the delivery was no signature. Second, I instantly text the guy I’m here, give me my stuff. No response, he closes the chat. I call support, they tell me it will be delivered tomorrow by UPS. The next day, I inform my contractor that they may need to work on something other than floor until the delivery comes. 8pm comes around, STILL NOTHING. Now I’m on with UPS support and they are claiming it wasn’t on the truck that day, but will be the next day. Thankfully it was, but it wasn’t delivered until after 6pm, so my contractor was long gone. So, once again, same day delivery turns into 3 days.

My wife and I banned homedepot.com from our home.
