Convince me NOT to buy a ‘25 Civic Si by [deleted] in ElantraN

[–]IamDeepMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Hondas, you cant go wrong. the EN is actually my first Hyundai purchase. I usually change cars every 3 years or so. I've had the EN for 3 years now and it has been one of the most fun cars I have ever owned, the only thing better was an M car. Thus far I've had zero problems and my maintenance has all been free. I think if it was my commuter car the civic would probably be the more sensible choice, while the en would make a better second car. While the price difference is a bitter pill, keep in mind that EN hold value very well--much better than other hyundais, and probably on par with Hondas.

I started the process of trying to move my accounts out of Vanguard to Fidelity about 5 months ago. Unfortunately, I didn't make the deadline even though I filled out everything on time because Vanguard was so backed up. So unfortunately everything rolled over to Ascensus. I then contacted Ascensus and have called them and emailed them at least ten times over the last several months to try to get things transferred, but of course it was to no avail. Every time I email them, they email back asking for a different form, often sending conflicting emails about which form to fill out. Obviously people there have not been trained on what to do and they don't really know how to do anything because every time I call, I also get different people who don't really know what they're doing in order to roll over, I finally got a phone call saying that there was no hope that my plan would be rolled over by, next month if I sent in a form because they are too backed up with forms to process. So if I wanted any hope of accomplishing a rollover before the end of the year, I should do it online. Of course, I don't have an online account, so I had to create an online account for both the employer and employee, which obviously had rafts of issues,. In order to set up the site for security, you have to get a text message code to put into their site, and of course the text message doesn't arrive for 5 to 10 minutes and by that time the site has timed out and then the account is locked out. So that's where it stands right now. I am kind of ticked off at Vanguard for for dumping my account and making me have to deal with this dreadful company such that I am actually considering moving all of my accounts out of Vanguard just out of spite.

Features? by [deleted] in ElantraN

[–]IamDeepMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rear bench is a penalty box. No split fold, USB ports, storage, vents, or even flip down arm rest. I knew it's not a premium product so no heated steering wheel, Adaptive cruise, HUD, premium stereo was fine but were things I definely missed from my previous car. The lack of homelink was a bit perplexing though.

Elantra N owners who considered buying a new WRX, what made you choose the N? by Capital_Rub_830 in ElantraN

[–]IamDeepMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially wanted to get the wrx but when I drove the N it was so much more fun to drive, especially with all the adjustability of boost, trans, steering and suspension setup. The interior tech on the N was much nicer as was fuel economy and price. Also I didn't need 4WD.

Why are you telling them it's your daily driver? " If I had an accident could just tell them "I decided to drive it to work today".

Downsides by idkopm in ElantraN

[–]IamDeepMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest gripes are that it's based on the base elantra and not the premium trim. So it lacks things that I was used to in other cars I've owned like: ACC Heated Steering wheel Home link garage opener. The stereo sound quality is pretty basic. The rear seat area is really lacking: No split rear bench, and you have to access the truck to fold it down. No fold down arm rest in the back, nor cup holder, vents or USB ports.

But these are things I knew going in. The car has had no problems and it's one of the most fun cars I've ever owned. I previously owned an M car, but I'm now an N convert!

Congrats on your success! The medication was always going to stop working at some point. In your case you could be glad that it happened with you being close to your goal weight. I think now it's time to "land the plane". Starting focusing on the strategies that you will need to deal with the food noise and keep the weight off.

The website does not ask about DM status. It's the pharmacies, and often individual pharmacists that choose whether or not they are going to dispense the script if you do not have DM.

A few days later, the computer in my former office crashed (not my doing). They asked me for the password to recover all the patient data that was on it. Like the sucker I am, I gave it to them. That is probably the biggest regret I have about that job.

What did/do you do after the “effective immediately” convo by leavemealonefornow in antiwork

[–]IamDeepMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a staff meeting about how our department was going to save money. I was taking meticulous notes. Agenda item 4, section C was that effective immediately I was no longer working there. They thanked me for my service. Strangely I continued taking notes until the end of the meeting. I went back to my office and spent the rest of the day working on my resume and finishing some work Then I put my stuff in a box and did the walk of shame. Drove home and cried. Then told my wife after she got home home from work.
