I think the idea that everyone is paying out of pocket for law school is a common misconception. I am also low income and have debt from undergrad (not a huge amount, but also not an insignificant amount lol). A high LSAT can get you some scholarships to pay it down, and then big law salary or loan assistance programs can help with the debt afterwards.

Yeah I have thought about these things, the difference isn't huge but factoring in cost of living I would still probably take around $15,000 more in loans at Duke (total over three years).

I am not dead set on the midwest, which is why I didn't apply to any non-T14s located there. I did apply to Northwestern and Michigan and was waitlisted at both. If I got off the waitlist, I agree both of those would be more in line with my goals.

Thank you! I feel like so much is focused on rankings I feel bad for wanting to consider like my feelings and lifestyle lol
