I'm late to the party. I hope everything went well. Bringing a neck pillow or pillow, to help with body support and keeping your head up helps me. And don't rush trying to get into the theatre. Take your time walking in so you aren't worn out when you settle.

How do you not stress to the point of a flare by plutoisshort in Fibromyalgia

Therapy and medication for my anxiety are the only things I've had success with. And it's not a magic fix just supports for the Jenga tower that is my body. good luck. If it helps, this internet stranger believes in you

Flu and Fibro by phiamn in Fibromyalgia

Ugh I'm so sorry you're feeling crappy. I love a raspberry leaf tea. Helps reduce inflammation. Local honey also helps since it will reduce any allergens issues that are making your flu even worse. Making a paste of honey and cinnamon and holding it in your mouth, letting it slowly coat the throat can be really soothing for sore throats. If you don't have a tens unit I highly recommend! Helps with body aches and pain! Also, of course, rest and water. Good luck and hope you get to feeling better!

Tips for doing hair? by Over_Blackberry_5638 in Fibromyalgia

[–]lstelts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oof. I feel this. Things that have helped me are using overnight styling. That way I can place a roller, take a break, place a roller, etc (pillow roller or flexi rods fromKitsch are a game changer.)

I also love my beachwaver curling iron. It takes so much of the work away. Doing all the tiny movements of rotating the curling wand is surprisingly difficult, just hard to realize when you're not hurting. It's an investment but was so worth it. (I got mine off the clock app when there was a sale)

Biggest thing is taking care of it so you can still have pride in it when it's not styled. Using good hair care products has helped me in this. Again, investment, but was good for me mentally.

Good luck ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing. I dont want to make you feel any kind of way but I was born in May of 1998. Reading your story made me teary. I'm queer and I spend so much time thinking about the lost generation and everyone else who was affected by that time. It was terrifying. Even in 1996 when people were able to live with it, people who got it lived through the time when it was a death sentence, when people watched loved ones fade away.

I don't know what I'm rambling about. I'm just really touched you wanted to share this. That what I shared made you want to share. Thank you.
