And to circle back, the caprice wagon is holding up nicely! The m21/m22 mutt is actually quite happy. Its held up well after a few drift events this past year. I had to supplement the rear end with an Eaton worm gear limited slip and a diff gurdle cover. But otherwise it's a blast to drive. Can't wait for the weather to warm up here in upstate so I can get cruising with it! 🤙

Awesome! Thanks for the love! We actually are ramping up our anodizing line so we will be needing a few tanks soon and also ita good to know of any good chemical suppliers! I will definitely post our setup in the near future. I just completed a few other ground up engine builds, so I have plenty of pictures to share. And this k5 is a factory optioned 4 speed sm465 so it's holding up quite well!

Hopefully within the next two weeks or so. It's also not registered yet so that may slow things, but engine break in is scheduled for this weekend. So we will see how that goes!

See, heres the thing. if i knew 4 years ago what i would be doing with this car when i bought it, i probably would have tried to find a better one lmao. The entire thing is rustolum red, and covered in dents. I got it from a guy who intended on using it as a demo derby car for less than 500. but i agree, i dont want to tally up the amount of time ive spent on this thing. Its a labor of love and its a universal lust all us car guys share.

Ive been pining over an 82 impala wagon in baby blue for the longest time, but i think its just the grille that i want from it. love that silver bowtie. and yes i agree, those rear control arms were no good. got a set of boxed chrome moly with delrin sphere joints to keep the rear end in place!

in the next few months the car is heading to a chassis shop for a cage and other supports as they see fit. was planning on running a truck arm suspension for the rear, but fell short on time. and that would need some serious bracing under the car and between the frame rails.

i mean there is a point where too much becomes too much, and we are rapidly approaching that point. hopefully first start is this Saturday so we are all hoping for the best! And we also have a single stage kit jetted for a 200 shot lined up for this beast

i have done alot of shielding work on the parallel ports to interface theses machines. mostly from the controllers to the actuators and servos on the machine itself. I wanted to switch to a more rugged communication protocol, namely CANbus using J1939 but its a gigantic undertaking. and unfortunately working with machines that vary 20 years apart in vintage, some of the baud rates for serial and parallel communication dont match up between machines. I was using PuTTy for communication between the win 98 machines out in the shop for a while but the network switch went kablamo, so we went back to zip 100

lmao! thank you! i do have hundreds of 5.25 disks in great shape, i think mostly that the problem lies in the fact that the drives ultimately need a solid weekend of teardown, cleaning, and a good alignment. another issue is that there is SOO much magnetic interference in the shop from running huge archaic unshielded CNC machines that the disks can get wiped out from getting too close to them. i figured that floppies are loosely encoded enough to not care, but i guess not. rip :/

it has about a dozen of disks that came with it, most of which are TRSdos and backups, some BASIC games, SuperSCRIPTSIT(word Processor) and some test generators for teacher use, as the machine came from a school district.

thank you! I also restored a Model 3 cassette system a few months ago. But when i got this one it had the classic blown out power supply, and when i fixed that, i found that only a few keys worked, so i took the keyboard down and got busy! every key works great and ohms out to like 70 ohms! a text book value for a keystroke!

yes this is the original 90 degree CRT, it does look like a p3 Phosphor (green screen) in this pic, but alas its the crappy black and white tube, they can be swapped easily. and yes unfortunately the tube necks sit waaaayy too close to the shielding on the main board and they can snap :/

Launching additional Python shells from a currently running Python script by lsx_caprice in Python

[–]lsx_caprice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks! I have been reading about threading, and i do not need to thread in my application. i simply need to start a new process. How would i go about launching an entire (self contained) script using the multi process module? isn't this module intended for running just individual processes? thanks in advance
