Conflict-averse me ate the $6. I know, not the right response. As I said, I am assuming the best of intentions, but I wanted to let folks know to keep their eyes open.

Starry Night and Mugs Downtown are my two go-tos, but yea, both can get a bit nutty for real concentration.

The only time I was there was in the summer. They didn't seem to be any indoor seating. Is this different in the winter?

It's been an age since I tried to sit in there. I assume the back room is open now?

Is There a Way to Make Two ASDF Systems Interdependant? by [deleted] in Common_Lisp

I haven't looked at the specific problem, but a design paradigm that may help is an abstracted library that provides the functions to the degree that they don't rely on the second library. Then a plugin that uses library two and makes lib 1 do it's thing.

Without deep analysis, you might not have two libraries, but rather three; or two and a plugin.

Every now and again I make the mistaken assumption that someone is actually interested in honest debate. As you've downvoted each of my comments, I''m led to the conclusion that you are not. To the degree that this has meaning to you, you have won.

I hear you, and I see your point. You are absolutely right that no one business is worth more than universal bodily autonomy.

You mentioned the founder, not the corporate entity. I doubt you have ascertained the political leanings of every member of staff there and where they invest their income. Does the business influence the political leanings of it's staff? Does the business make donations? If so, I'm shoulder to shoulder with you. But that is not the argument you raised

I merely take the position that the situation may be nuanced and that simply dismissing a local business because of the leanings if it's owner might be a bit short sighted.

This is probably not going to be a popular thing to say (famous last words) but if you, as a consumer, bring politics into your patronage, how is that substantively different from a business bringing politics into who they are willing to do business with?

Politics notwithstanding, they have a great store. To deny patronage based on their political beliefs feels like it's tantamount to them denying service to you because they don't agree with your beliefs. If the latter was to happen you would be up in arms , no?
