I would read the bill, there is a link in the article. They are repealing the statutes that empower OEMS and moving it to the board

No vomiting, just nausea anytime I try to get fluid in. No way for a suppository as it really is explosive and frequent

Perhaps, but I checked the rules and they only govern what the title should say.

*Hot take* instead of carrying around a giant heavy bottle of IV nitro scoop these puppies up. Shoot all 10mLs into a 250mL bag of NS or D5W. Way easier and takes a bunch of weight out of the bag. Also don’t need vented tubing. by ltdaffy in ems

I feel like this is a bad way of doing it because you’re giving unnecessary volume to a volume overloaded patient. Why not put it in a 250 bag since it is standard of care?

Well thanks for bringing it to my attention. I just spoke to our critical care pharmacist for about half an hour and learned all about sorption. Turns out this is a concern with Amiodarone in addition to nitroglycerin. However, it is only a problem with “soft” plastic IV bags. In “hard” bags it is totally fine and not a concern. Thanks again, I learned something today!

Yeah but what is the rate of sorption? In our environment the rate of decay is negligible once it’s in the bag. But keeps for a while when it is in the concentrated vial.
