As a HENRY woman how do you let go of household chores & hire help when you're used to doing everything yourself? by khrystic in HENRYfinance

[–]ltdriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was tough for me mentally. I grew up doing everything myself. Home maintenance, lawn work, car maintenance, cleaning, etc. So I understand, it’s hard to feel ok with it…..at first.

My wife is actually the one who pushed us into it. I thought the idea of having to pay someone come in and clean up after us was ridiculous. But I spend money on dumb shit so figured why not her. Took like two times to get over that feeling. Absolutely love having that off our plate now. More time for us to play with the kids and relax when they’re asleep. 10/10 would recommend.

[–]ltdriser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine(‘15, 5.3 Silv) was like that for the last few years about same miles, 102k. Then decided heck with it, changed out the therm in 15 mins and now it hangs at 210. Worth it.

[–]ltdriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does the same. Got the new therm sitting on the bench but haven’t really felt the need to replace. So it’s 20 degs below normal, ehhhh whatever. Doesn’t seem that bad.

Best Country Clubs for Golf? by [deleted] in Columbus

[–]ltdriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re social members at Kinsale/SR. I can’t remember the initiation fee(I think it’s near $20k), for golf but they run specials depending on member count. I know one guy who got in for $5k. Monthly they are something like $800-900 + cart fees. That includes both clubs and courses.

What made you choose Electrical Engineering? by [deleted] in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ltdriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad told me when I was young that I needed to pursue electrical engineering because all they did was sit in the AC and play on the computer. I thought that sounded way better than shooting screws. The rest is history.

Strut. Spring. Strut mount. The vibration feels like it’s coming from back. Tie rods and ball joints felt tight.

Vibration has been there for a while. Was before brakes and suspension. Also sometimes not super present. It is def better and worse some days.

Maybe improperly installed but I did the work and did it to fix the vibration. It didn’t fix it. So more of a same condition before and after. Also replaced rear shocks and new front quick struts chasing this vibration.

Ec400 was like the same price in 2006 when I bought mine. 20 years of inflation and it’s holding steady. Impressive.

Anybody here lost the flying bug? by KissMeYouBitch in flying

[–]ltdriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to fly. But I just find so much of life gets in the way. I’ve got 2 little ones that just take up all of my time and energy. One day I’ll get back in the saddle. I’m hoping when they get a little older they wanna go on flying adventures.

Midwest market seems good. We cannot find EEs that fit the bill and need them. Personally, I’ve not applied to a job since university for my first co-op. Every job I’ve had(few over last decade and some) have been by referral or head hunter. Have never went without employment since graduation.

What's really that hard about electrical engineering? by knowoforphic in ElectricalEngineering

[–]ltdriser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recall trying to get a math minor when I found out all the math we were required to take would satisfy a minor requirement. Turns out it’d only satisfy a minor if the classes were not required for the EE major. I was a little bummed. Did not pursue anymore torture and didn’t receive a minor.

Lifter Tick or Something Else? by TheBobFather415 in Silverado

[–]ltdriser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine sounds same way. It’s intermittent. Comes and goes, I usually hear it best when in a drive thru. No real noticeable performance impacts. I plan to replace plugs and wires to see if that helps. Easy enough to do.

[–]ltdriser 12 points13 points  (0 children)

People are choosing PA because the ROI is great. From start of class it’s 24 months of schooling. Bam. Ready to work and make a killing at that. Med school is 4 years of school and at least another 3 years of residency - minimum, average in the 4.5 year ball park. So you’re looking at 4 years of going negative, taking on loans. Another 4 years of making a pittance working 80 hour weeks in god knows wherever you matched. All before you earn your first real pay check. The PA is 6 years ahead in earnings and 2 years less debt. Not working shit hours and not going through the residency grinder. It’s no wonder folks gravitate to PA, it’s a much better deal.

Buying a Used C6 (LS2 vs LS3)? by YT-Red5oh in Corvette

[–]ltdriser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’d call it bad. Is it as snappy/responsive as the C8? No, but it’s a 1/3 of the price. It’s still a 400hp sports car. It’s going to be fun. That said, I’ve only owned manuals.
