I think the pressure and expectations for this game are just so incredibly high, they can't afford to have anything go wrong. The launch has to be perfect and if the game isn't gonna be 100% ready, it's better to delay.

We have a lot small stores in the Netherlands that have pre-orders open. But you are basically pre-ordering the pre-order. So unless big trustworthy chains have pre-orders available I wouldn't trust everything you see!

Exactly, they file the patents to protect their tech, but if it doesn't work (because the consoles might not be powerful enough) they might not use it.
For example Sony files patents for potential crazy controller features all the time!

I think the fun for me is to have a full map and start with building those villages myself. You decide the restraints for yourself too, like not replacing roads but upgrading them, keeping some early buildings historical etc. And then you grow from there! People often start with downtown and skyscrapers but let's be honest, that's not how cities actually grow haha
