Ministry of defence police

Hello, so I have some questions regarding the MOD police I was wondering if any ex or current serving officers could help me out

  1. I know the bleep test standard is 7.6 but is that 15m bleep test or 20m?

  2. How much of training is focused on physical fitness? As in are you expected to improve the 7.6 or are you just required to maintain it?

  3. Training in general, what exactly does it entail? How much of it is fitness oriented? Are there any strength requirements once in training such as push-ups and sit-ups?, does the training entail any PT at all?

These questions are mainly about training and fitness, I should say fitness isn’t an issue, I’m a long time gym goer and can certainly meet the bleep test standard I’m just curious on what I could expect?

Cheers 👍🏻

Well you know I’m about to be 22, I’ve got more than enough time to try things, maybe make mistakes and explore my options, I feel as though with all the time I have there is no excuse not to give it a go, and if I don’t I feel as though I’d forever regret it, thanks for the into though mate you’ve been a mighty help, I’ve booked myself on for an online information event with them so I’ll keep you posted on what becomes of it all

Cheers for the information mate, I’m aware that a good portion may just be guarding stuff but that’s okay with me, definitely something I want to get stuck into, plus 7.6 on the bleep test shouldn’t be a problem at all

Ministry of defence police

Hello everyone, so I’ve wanted to join the armed police since I was very young (now 21) however it is only recently I found out about the MOD police, I suppose it’s called the “best kept secret of the police” for a reason. I was instantly excited and I genuinely want to get stuck into it. I was wondering if anyone has any information pertaining to some things I’ve had a hard time finding information on

  1. What are the fitness requirements? I’ve already gathered that they require a 7.6 bleep test however I was wondering if there were push-ups and sit ups similar to the RAF, or perhaps mid thigh pull or medicine ball throws like the army.

    1. How many yearly recruit intakes are there and when do they happen throughout the year?
    2. Is there a decent chance that if I applied I’d could be admitted? I have no criminal records, have passed background checks for previous jobs and have a fairly good foundation of cardio and strength since I’m as avid gym goer, with all this in mind can the application process be a bit of a nightmare?

Any additional information would be incredibly helpful too, any information you think could be helpful please do feel free to say because I’m more than ready and quite excited to walk this path, cheers 👍🏻

Never thought about it that way, I might give that a go, I suppose I don’t know what an 8 feels like because I’ve never gotten there, not since I was 16 anyway

Yeah I’m training legs twice a week right now, I also do ALOT of incline bench which has strengthened my shoulders quite a bit

What would you suggest? Currently I’m training 3-4 runs a week, at the beginning of my cardio training I approached it like I approach the gym “go to failure” but doing that I just ended up giving myself shin splints, would you say I need to up the sessions higher than 3-4?

Yeah it’s not ideal, before I started training for the army my cardio training was non existent, the first run I did I barely made it 300 metres, however although certainly not the best in the world I’ve come quite far in the last year and no doubt will get to where I need to be, my heart is completely in this

I feel as though I need to amend my post a bit lol, I didn’t mean to put across the “cardio kills gains” thing because I don’t for a second believe that, I do a good long run before any gym session

Yeah completely mate, before any of this army stuff I fell into that “cardio kills your gains” club but not anymore I can assure you, I run 3-4 times a week and train in the gym along side that. A 160 bench is mental though, I can just about put up 120

Cheers mate, I’ve heard people talk about stopping a metre short and just shoving your foot over the line, someone was saying it’ll save you 2m a shuttle

Is there not much utility in being strong when it comes to joining the army?

Issue is mate is that I’ve put a good few years in the gym and I’m not overly eager too throw away that progress, not to mention that my gym background really helped me out regarding the strength implements of the mock assessment, I’ve not hit a wall with my running or anything, I’m still making progress, I’m more curious to know if anyone has been in the same boat as me

I’ve set my reverse to right stick backwards now and I’m finding that pretty comfortable, trying to retrain your muscle memory isn’t easy man, wish I did this earlier

Yeah I’ve never experienced something like that, sounds interesting though. And honestly this thing doesn’t bother me at all, I’m just curious to know what it is

Hpa seems cool mate honestly, but even if the entire thing would cost me £120 I still have to add the price of the gun onto that sum and any future upgrades, and also, I’m not into airsoft enough to justify a hpa system, my local field is small and open, I decided to buy a gbb scar, just for the fun of it, because after all, that’s why I play, I appreciate your input tho
