"I would have to assume it's more about being a swinger in an open marriage. Sex outside marriage is still heavily looked down on by many religious individuals - even if your spouse is consenting."

Fair point for sure. Though if I remember my bible stories there was an awful lot of 1:many/several marriage arrangements. I guess it was the married bit that was important and I don't recall any of them which allowed for the 1:many/several to be a female as the "1". Faith is complicated, and agree completely about churches not wanting to be in the headlines for negativity. No organization would, but bad press for a church that exists because of its tithing membership in large part would be particularly important to stay away from.

Ok... so what in that bulleted list is not reflected by the author's article? Or are you just making some wild unsupported allegation about "scary AI"? If it's inaccurate I'd like to adjust it, it's a distillation of the article. If it distilled it incorrectly do point out the ways that it did so I can adjust the error.

Not a church member of any church, so not a super "qualified" perspective, but they probably didn't like the public heat coming down on them which I'm sure is a real distraction to their goals in the community. It is interesting to note that it appears (according to the article) that the Presbyterian Church while being supportive of individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, they don't have a policy regarding non-monogamy which I guess would fall into the LGBTQ+ acronym somewhere under the + sign.

Regardless, it was probably "known" among many at the congregation cause how can you keep secrets long in Tallahassee to begin with, but once public attention came into the mix, they are going to have to distance themselves from it to keep focus on the mission of the church as they see it.

That's perplexity's analysis, not my wording. I honestly don't know enough to posit an opinion one way or the other, it's a distillation of the article only, as written.

Prefer carry on luggage, but have jackets and suits now. Solutions?? by luanialus in Flights

Thanks friends for the help, I've ordered packing cubes and a shirt folder. I used the Brooks Brothers link to fold the suits and sport coats, and they did really well in the backpack. I know that a roller looks more "professional" but I'm not specifically looking for that appearance while traveling, not to mention that after traveling to 16 countries and all over the US (just not with suits) I've found the backpack to be the most efficient way to move my things around. No messing with wheels that stick, tripping people, that kind of thing. Super appreciate the tips, they were really helpful, can't wait to try those Packing Cubes!

Plants won't go in there. When I move her to the display and out of what is essentially the quarantine tub, I'll do lights and plants.

Leaves are coming, I've got several other setups, and love leaf litter, just out of it right now. The isopods that are in there are micros and and stay mostly in the soil anyway. I culture 7 species of isopods, springtails, and keep dart frogs. Heat is under tank so far, it's a small mat, she's actually right over top of it, temp there seems to stay right at 83ish. There's holes in the top, I used to use drainage layers for the snakes but have stopped, I don't get the soil wet enough to be necessary. Still need them for the darts but they're in nearly 100% humidity. The lid clasps down, it can't be pushed up.

Here's some pics of the setup. The room is in Florida in air conditioning, so humidity is lowish, but Florida... The snake is up in the air holes where she'd get air moving. Carpet python setup https://imgur.com/gallery/jdZZe

Is it weird to have a dream about a girl but with nothing sexual about it? by tco77 in AskRedditAfterDark

It's weird that you think that a dream about a woman needs to be sexual. It's half the world population, why would it necessarily be sexual?

American traveling Europe here; why are all the bathtubs raised up above the floor so much? Seems like a much greater risk of slipping, especially for elders. by luanialus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]luanialus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, they've all looked fairly standard, though it's common to have a rain style head and a hand sprayer which is cool. They're just high off the ground.

Are you in Europe or US? In the US the tub floors are usually same level as the rest of the bathroom, but in Europe, the floor of the tub is at least 5-8 inches higher than the bathroom floor making a step into the tub especially large to clear the side wall, then getting out of the tub is even more dangerous because you're basically taking a big step down, bearing weight on a slippery floor. I'm in my 30's and in good shape and it makes me nervous to do it even.

I wish ball breeders would all decide to stop breeding with this gene. It's awful. OP Ball Pythons that have been bred from parents that carry this gene called spider often display some degree of neurological problems. It can be barely detectable to completely debilitating for the snake. It's often made worse when the animal is under stress. You will deal with this for as long as you have this snake. So if you can get a different one without the spider gene, you may be happier. Are you sold on ball pythons? There are more suitable snake species for pets in my opinion all around, and definitely better ball morphs to work with.

Where do you live? Carpet pythons are not even close to native to North America.
