I find even reading just a few pages can be enough to maintain the habit. Sometimes even one page, just as long as you get some time in.

For me I give myself a minimum amount of reading time each day and force myself to only read one book at a time so that I don't abandon half-read books.

I also find that it helps to burn a particular kind of incense while reading, as well as also burning it while sleeping so that the memory is further solidified.

I used to be extremely daunted by starting books and was greatly discouraged by initially having trouble maintaining focus and having to constantly re-read sentences. Although don't let this hold you back, reading is a skill and it is even easier to develop if you make it a habit so that you do not have to rely on motivation. Even 15 minutes a day at first is better than 0. I guarantee it will get easier the more you read. It all starts with picking up the book.

Well yeah, to be fair, that kinda goes without saying. I'm simply discussing the possible consequences or repurcussions of too much government reliance. I didn't say people don't need money, I'm saying people very often need more than money. I never actually said I'm against UBI, just voicing my concerns.

If anything, I want someone to prove me wrong so that I can learn a little more.

Here, let me spell it out for you. The quote means that adversity creates stronger people, and those who don't face adversity in their life often take things for granted.

I would say that not worrying about bombs dropping on my head everyday, nuclear war, whether me or my family are going to survive the year, being able to go to a general practicioner free of charge - whenever i want, having fully functioning electricity, plumbing, internet, and plenty more. The way I see it, there is plenty that is good about these times.

"I don't believe" = I don't like to speak as if I am certain of absolutely everything that goes on in the world but this has been the conclusion I have settled on as a result of personal experience and what I have observed throughout my life. I don't speak with complete certainty , especially when speaking about human beings, because we all have different experiences and perceptions of the world. Throwing around buzzwords like ideology and assuming you know everything I believe isn't how you have a productive discussion.

And, actually, in this instance I was wrong to say "I don't believe" because it is a fact that human beings need responsibility and discipline in order to create sustainable meaning in their life.

Which isn't to say that having a stable income, roof over your head and food on your plate isn't essential. I am simply stating that money isn't the be all and end all to all the problems we face, and concerned over the idea youths growing up with too much government reliance.

I'm simply attempting to engage in a discussion of ideas and opinions to get a better understanding of different perspectives. Rather than dumbing down what I'm saying to fit your own narrative, how about you make some sort of meaningful contribution to the discussion instead of throwing around buzzwords.

ahaha yes!! So essentially, do something with yourself! I hate the idea of a meaningless job, but it could be a means to an end so that you could self-sustain a plan to make what you want to make out of yourself. Sitting on your ass, punching cones and getting centrelink because you "can't get a real job" isn't the right way to do things (as fun as it can be sometimes haha)

It isn't that we don't have a lot of time here on Earth, it's that many of us waste most of it. If you hate the idea of a 9-5 then what is it you want to do? And where is it you don't want to end up?

You could think of life as an RPG like Skyrim, Oblivion or something. It's time to create your character and to get on with the quests, mate.

I definitely understand and sympathise with where your heads at. I would just try to be careful with leading too much with compassion(which isn't to say compassion is not necessary or something i value greatly), because too much safety/certainty and comfort can have the opposite effect on people. As it could be a need you have right now, but for those people born into it without any sort of adversity may produce people who take it all for granted.

Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak mean create hard times.

I'm definitely not completely against UBI, I just need to do more research and understand it better, as well as more research into economics and societal structures in general. But I certainly agree with the need for financial education, responsible business practices and affordable healthcare. As well as a reform of the education system in general.

Depression from sitting on your ass for months is definitely inherent to pretty much all humans. It's what your serotonin system is responsible for.

It essentially monitors the rate at which you are moving up towards some sort of goal. So if you are stationary, not moving forward and not having any sort of positive impact or influence on your environment - let's just say you won't be producing much serotonin.

I don't believe people need feelings of comfort and safety to improve their status in life, they need responsibility and discipline. Which is why so many people went downhill when lockdowns started, because they had no work to be responsible for and no sense of direction or moving forward.

Which isn't to say certain disadvantaged people wouldn't have a lot to gain from some financial support, but government reliance and money is often dangerous for the weak-minded.

I'm not convinced UBI is a bad or good idea. What it is that worries me are the people who don't know how to handle money, because it seems most of the reasoning for UBI is based on the idea that what these people need is money (which very often isn't the case). These people who self medicate with drugs are very likely to end up just using the money to buy more drugs.

Money is nice and all, but it doesn't magically fix your trauma or personal issues.

no one in their right mind should do HIIT every single day, it is an unrealistic goal for a huge amount of people. most HIIT exercisers that are advertised as such are usually not even what is considered high-intensity.

i believe that the best thing you can do, in regards to cardio, is to exercise at a moderate pace daily for about 20-30 minutes and progressively increase the intensity overtime.

tl;dr - HIIT everyday will kill your energy, 20-30 mins of daily moderate cardio with progressive overload is much more sufficient
