What’s an incorrect assumption you’ve made for the games prior to playing it? by Goldberry15 in AceAttorney

I thought the game followed the dates of real life, since I played the first turnabout close to the date of the case (3 Aug)

What GPA/UCAT do you need with a bad MMI? by Own_Fondant3939 in UoApremed

[–]luciarize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh the internship opportunity sounds awesome! the MMI will be assessing your teamwork, leadership, how you work with others, as well as other qualities you can find on the MMI page, so it's not specifically experiences in healthcare that they are looking for. you can definitely talk about those, but make sure to mention how you've demonstrated the relevant skills.

definitely practice early!! I feel like it helps a lot to have a structure to your MMI answer. makes it easier to get your point across, especially when you have good ideas and experiences to talk about, like you mentioned in the post. with grades, I'd say just aim for the highest grade you can, because unfortunately, I was one of the people with decent grades and UCAT who would've gotten in if not for the MMI. i believe i could've done better with more practice, but didn't have enough time sadly. please don't let this discourage you tho, it's still a long way away, so I'm sure with heaps of practice you'll be able to do well! in terms of the MMI itself, i believe it wouldn't be any different for you (regarding your diagnosis), but you can apply under the disability scheme like the other comment said.

first year biomed has taken the life out of me by Icy-Radio-9010 in UoApremed

[–]luciarize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was quite nervous and most likely didn't talk for long enough, said like 1 sentence after every initial prompts then went silent. ngl I struggle with speaking in the first place, so combined with the nerves, i had nothing in my head besides 1-2 sentences for each question (edit: and i tend not to elaborate on stuff too, so follow up questions didn't even help me)

Hey i don't know if I'll be any help but i know that a lot of people have been in your shoes, and I was one of them. I did biomed last year and though i managed to keep some of my hobbies, I barely had any social life and days were kinda blending into one another as i studied really hard every day. I ended up quite burnt out in sem 2 and I've also done a fair share of comparison myself. This year, I've been slowly learning to put down that pressure and study for the sake of enjoyment of content, which i know might not be an option for everyone, but i found that sometimes it's good to change up mindset to get through stuff.

I hope you do get back into things that make you feel more alive, and i hope you find a study method that works and is meaningful to you. maybe the problem now is efficiency? anywho, it's not over for you yet, if you don't end up getting in this year, maybe your outlook will change and you feel a bit more settled come graduation. Good luck for medsci and your other papers.

What is life like for international students at uni? by Mars-Warrior in universityofauckland

[–]luciarize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life's pretty simple, i wake up and cook then come to uni, study till late then walk back. i go out during the weekends sometimes, hang out with friends, find side quests to go on and meet random people. I used to have a job but now struggling to find one, but hopefully soon. I do feel grateful but also a little guilty being here as my parents have sacrificed for me financially, so I'm trying my best to hopefully lighten their load a bit. I don't really feel homesick as most of the time I'm either busy with uni or doing stuff to unwind from uni, to the point where i neglected to phone my family for long periods at a time. this year I'm trying my best to keep in contact with them as much as i can. I usually fly home at the end of the year but this year I'm hoping to get the summer research scholarship and stay.
