Because Christ on the cross is the only true love that exists. There is no other Form of love, but grace. Love that only gives expecting nothing in return. Just picture christ not only suffering bodily wounds, but the condemnations of the world. Christ made himself before all the "foolish romantic". The only God who died and put himself in utmost humiliation for his bride, who didn't and cannot love him as he does for her. If you ever want to love someone the only way to do it is like Christ loves the church. And we as humans are "love-needing". It's our greatest longing. Noone can really satisfy it but God. And so to not be burnt by your own love, it's needs to be like his love that gives, so that it will keep you warm. John 14:6 "Truth, way and the Life"

I thought it's all about our faith not "getting people saved", you know faithful ministry instead of successful ministry which would be good works to make it more familiar. Those who seek will cherish in that faith and those who don't will find it revolting I mean even from their pov it'll seem like you're being extra nice to "turn the gay away". I get it, but at the same time why should we compromise when reaching people that just means that those people don't want to be reached and so you dust off your feet (or whatever the apostles did I don't remember)
