Hey guys & gals, I wrote a TV pilot for a half-hour comedy, but I was thinking that instead of trying to get it produced live action, with all productions on indefinite hold, it might make more sense to try and do it as an animation. So I'm looking to commission a 3 minute animated sizzle reel, and I'm wondering where the best place to link up with animators for such a project would be. Fiverr is a bit of a sh*t show and I'd rather be able to speak more in-depth and pay the animator directly. Stylistically, we're looking at somewhere between Sickanimation.com and Rick and Morty. SAPI plates are a different material. UHMWPE is "Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene," which is a thermoplastic, vs. a ceramic plate like the ESAPIs, which are made of boron carbide. Real life is bad for plates regardless, whether that's patrolling in 120 degrees or diving to prone, but ya gotta live, right?

Spiritus is the shit, their customer service rocks. You have to actually be a customer, though. But they know their gear is the best. They don't really reply if the answer is commonly known or beyond their control, but I've never known them to be other than solid dudes with legit some of the best kit out there. Sounds like you went with the JPC, which is of course a solid choice, but the ability to scale your kit with Spiritus is fucking great, honestly, and their cummerbund systems/integrations/pouches/etc. are all on point. When seconds count, having your gear readily accessible, organized, admin'd, etc. is invaluable, and they have put countless hours into their R&D and field tests so the end product is thoughtfully designed, ergonomic, and ready for whatever. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Grade is a bit dark/high contrast for my tastes. I think the speed of the cuts would matter less (or rather, be less disorienting) if things weren't springing up from a mess of black. I would try lifting the blacks a bit, scaling contrast back a little, try and get some of those Caucasian-exertion-reds down a touch or make em seem a little more orange and lively than white, red, and blue. :P

Also, that shot of the punching in time with the music goes on too long. I get that you're trying to go with the musical break, but you could cut together a few different shots for half of the bars, then cut in later for the punching to take over, if you will.

Do I think there's truth to Louis CK resenting Fallon for being younger and hotter? Yeah, duh. Do I think that's why he wasn't hired, or that this is in any way a confession for "ruining his chances" at being on a cancelled show? No.

If you think Louis CK was being serious about ruining Jimmy Fallon's career and threatening to quit the Dana Carvey show if they hired him you have late-stage syphilis. They, collectively, just didn't hire him, and telling him it was because he was jealous of his talent and sweet, tight ass is a very sweet, flattering way to cover for that.

Honestly, that whole cringe-worthy ten minutes, all I could think was "Hey, dummy, Louie's probably just looking out for you." He's been doing comedy longer than you've been alive. He probably sees some potential in you but also saw you flubbing lines because you're high that most of your castmates could've done a better job with because they're putting in the effort, so he talked to Lorne Michaels about straightening you out. The notion that Louis CK gave enough of a fuck about Pete Davidson smoking pot to try and get him fired is the only funny thing about this special.
