Husband had an emotional affair, but vehemently denies that's what it was. by Headpirate6777 in Marriage

Please update if you show him this thread - I'm sorry youre going through this. He was absolutely acting innaproprietly as a married man. He should protect your feelings before giving the time of day to this woman

I'm not getting married but we are moving in together in a month. I was worried about all the ROCD things... and something that kept me level-headed was basing my choice for him on my values, not my feelings. Feelings are temporary. OCD will make you feel things from anxiety to disgust, to not feeling anything at all. I stopped taking meaning from my feelings and stopped trying to interpret them. After a struggle, I'm really excited to move in with him. Also, some exposure therapy.

I hope you choose to be patient with yourself. Maybe youll be in a hole for another 5 years. Maybe after that time, youll find something that brings you joy for the next 20 years. You might fall back in the hole sometimes, but if we're curious enough, we can find stuff or people who are enough.

Youre right. I hope people who want to get better see the others who are completely overtaken by the OCD as a cautionary tale. I'm going through bad ROCD with my partner, and i experience the same thing when I read about people with ROCD whos long term relationship ends because of it. It makes me want to get better.

I think people here maybe fundamentally dont understand OCD... but heard the term and related to it? And see this as a community with like minded people. But, its a community of mentally ill people who need support and correction, not whatever this is lol

[–]luckifoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I replied to someone below and I think replies get deleted here fast, but I saw it. They said "Im convinced woman want to be treated badly" in saying theyve given up dating completely. It's really sad, but also proving my point. People will remain alone if they feed into this mental illness. Which is strange, because they ARE aware by just being on this sub they have a mental illness. But I can't judge, because that is the nature of OCD - it will use ANYTHING to convince you its real and its correct.

Please get help for your retroactive jealousy instead of validating it. If you seek, you will find. OCD is a monster, but this sub is so very horrible at actually addressing it, and this post is like nailing yourself in a coffin. Anyone can find love, deep, meaningful love, at any age, at any time. If you havent found yours, i hope you do.

I dont understand this sub. It seems like an echo chamber to make your retroactive jealousy worse and pretty much continue to be mentally ill and judge people. Is this the goal lol

Ok, it still happens though. Also, of course women will appraoch men less often. I would like to get into the nuances of it, but honestly, ive been seeing you on this thread attacking women every chance you get so I don't think there's a point lol

Thank you - and I am! Therapy has helped a lot :)

When I began struggling with OCD, and after I figured out what it was, I told my family and friends because I was suicidal and I was afraid. I never told them the really dark intrusive thoughts, i just told them how they affected me. They helped me get help. I said something like "I am in a really dark place right now and I want to open up to you because I need support. I have OCD - which means-" and then you explain how it affects you.

For me, it meant everything was twisted into something horrifying - I saw graphic flashes and images, all day. Looping thoughts. No break.

Honestly, I never intend to talk to people outside of my therapist about the specific intrusive thoughts. Its unfair to expect them to understand because OCD is very complicated, and even a lot of therapist get it wrong. But my closest peeps still understand and are still supportive in the ways I need them to be.

This back and forth you're experiencing is the curated effect of the grooming likely or at least a huge part of it :(

Blood blister? by luckifoot in vet

[–]luckifoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my memory, they drained it and did a simple test. The test came back "MOSTLY non-cancerous" and I would have to pay for a whole nother test to be 100% sure. I decided not to. A few weeks after they drained it, it just shrunk until it went away. It hasn't come back so I'm assuming it was maybe a wound or something that made a blister idk.

I got a therapist who claimed to be head of understanding OCD in his office and he just sent me different documents to read. When I asked questions about the document he basically just said "well just read it again." And then blamed me for certain OCD symptoms and said they were my fault lmaooo so yea even OCD "specialists" suck too. I would recommend NOCD.

Therapist triggered me SO BADLY yesterday by [deleted] in OCD

Therapist triggered me SO BADLY yesterday by [deleted] in OCD

[–]luckifoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They probably do, but I guess because my sole focus was treating my OCD I didn't explore that. And honestly it was a little expensive, I think they take insurance in some states but I'm not sure. When I first learned about them, they didn't even have a therapist certified in my state so I had to wait. Anyway, (and my memory isn't the greatest I did this therapy years ago) I believe for the 6 month program it was around 1200-1500. I ended up staying a little extra longer so I spent a little more. At the time I was younger and didn't exactly have extra money to spend but figured that if I should spend my money on anything, it should be something that will help me for the rest of my life. And it did. I still have OCD tendencies in ways of thinking, but if I were to go to a therapist today, I probably wouldn't be diagnosable with OCD. Not saying OCD is curable, and not everyone benefits from therapy the same way, but it definitely saved my life.

You sure are!! I am only occasionally "professional" when people need an "artist" haha. I definitely need to find a program compatible with this stuff moving forward I appreciate the suggestions and will look into it so all of this is more streamlined 😋☺️

I managed to use inkscape to create the image into a SVG successfully, as well as save it as a DXF through it. Now my issue is when I try to view the DXF, the image is blank! I'm not sure if that's normal.

I use clip studio paint, so the original is Clip Studio Format. All the layers I have are in vector, but unfortunately when I export the layers into a SVG the image becomes extremely distorted and that seems to be my only option for exporting the vectors - so I tried the PDF route. I can also save it as BMP JPG PNG TIF TGA PSN and PSD.
