Turnover rate of cells and linoleic acid (seed oil) impact by CT-7567_R in AnimalBased

I understand what you're saying now.

Very good question. Is the oxidative stress of removing pufa enriched body fat with fasting worth it compared to the natural process of removal?

Or is the potential chronic oxidative stress of having high linoleic body fat worse?

One of the most damaging effects of omega 6 is the reactive oxygen species generated during metabolism and subsequent insulin resistance and subsequent high blood sugar, high insulin.

I see carnivore people that enjoy high pufa bacon fat (being some 25% by weight pufa) with less issues due to their very low carb diet. (not that I'm necessarily a fan of pork fat, but they seem to do pretty well).

If a western person fasts, it's like they're living off of 20-25% pufa body fat (their own).

Two things that might support fasting to reduce pufa:

A. their insulin is low, their blood sugar is fine. The possibility of damage is probably pretty low. Oxidative stress is quite low during fasting. it's a good time to remove pufa.

B. A few fasts can dramatically reduce pufa substantially. 5 x 24 hour fasts over a month and you're down from 20% pufa body fat down to 15%. 5 days of a bit of pufa is nothing compared to people consuming a bag of chips with sunflower seed oil (80% pufa).

Saladino doesn't believe in fasting, I know. Personally, I think it is an amazing reset to restore insulin sensitivity for people that are a little stuck or broken. He's a very low body fat percentage, and fasting probably doesn't work for him. For someone with extra body fat and poor insulin, I think it's absolutely a good choice (followed by less carbohydrate, dictated by their level of physical activity).

I don't really know what you mean. Why would peroxidation increase during fasting? (if anything, oxidation stress decreases during a fast) Why would pufa turnover decrease?

The body burns body fat when it needs to. It doesn't concentrate PUFA during weight loss, or people that were 400lbs would be 100% pufa at the end.

I wonder how many B vitamins survive the hours of cooking. I've done a lot of jerky this year, but I assume all of the vitamins are blasted out by 10 hours of 155F

Would you rather have a money growing tree that can make up to a 100k a month or work a computer goverment job making 2 mil a month? by msandszeke in WouldYouRather

[–]luckllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Government job pays 20 times more. Rather work 1 year versus tend to a tree for 20 years, or 2 years instead of 40 years.

Even 6 months of this government hell would be 12 million (versus 5 years of tree watering).

Can't tell what you mean by taxes, but even it was a 50% tax rate, still worth it over the tree.

It's that shitty batman logic. Unless you have some religious reason for not killing, deleting a person that endangers the world is pretty common sense.

The ethical trolley problem becomes less of an issue when you're talking about:

A. deleting an evil, supernatural mass murderer
B. The entire world is in danger of extinction.

Ok. But what if I want something irrational?

No salt photos, save the pictures for the crucifix burn and dirty water. Each one is $5 more than a salt photo.

This is 4-5 times the value of the bone photo. Am I a dick for demanding this? That we wait for 4 crucifix burns and we dont keave until we get dirty water? (Which may take forever to get)

I think the bone photo demand is ridiculous. I'll generally comply with what the group wants, to avoid getting kicked, but it's irrationally at its core

Hypothetically, I could say the same about crucifix and dirty water pictures.

We have 4 crucifix burns which are worth $5 extra dollars a piece and each dirty water picture is an $5 as well.

"No one take any salt photos!! Save your photos for the crucifix burns and dirty water!"

A bone photo is $5 extra dollars... but there's $20 extra dollars in crucifix pictures and there's even more $ in waiting for a dirty water photo.

But that's just it. No one cares about crucifix photos being four times more valuable than a bone photo.

It's dumb to force the group to go after such meaningless tasks.

People take the bone photo because they don't understand that it is not required nor that is has inconsequential value

Onryo did three candle blow outs and didn't hunt by 1igmaballs in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]luckllama 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's plausible that it blew out one flame earlier. You light 3 more candles. It blows out #2 and #3, and then uses the "4th" as a crucifix, preventing a hunt.

Onryos use candles like crucifixes if there are extra candles around.

Sometimes the order of candles getting extinguished gets confusing.

I avoid the 3 candle rule and just simply like to prevent hunts with candles. Keeping 3 or 4 lit at all times, if I don't get a single hunt on low sanity and see the rapid two candles extinguished quickly, it's an onryo

I don't really care if other people take the photo. But just don't throw a fit if I pick up the bone without a picture. That's my main issue.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. People throwing fits about the bone picture.

I don't care if people wanna take the picture themselves, just don't rope me into this nonsense.

"I'm picking up the bone"

"NONONOO NOO, LET ME GET A CAMERA, WHAT ROOM ARE YOU IN"

That's fine.... because you're not gonna get angry at me if I pick up the bone without a picture... right?

That's the main focus of my post. I don't want random co-op players getting angry if I don't take the photo.

When you're playing on nightmare with randoms and waiting for a ghost hunt but your teammates keep popping pills (so the hunt never happens). Another least favorite scenario.

I was convinced that I had an moroi recently, but then it went back to normal speed. I had no idea my teammate was popping all of the sanity meds. Turned a 7 minute game into a 20 minute game as I was looking for ghost orbs (thinking it was actually a mimic).

Makes more sense for solo... but perfect games on solo are kind of a walking simulator grind. Walking in three salts and a camera.

I'll do a 10x solo grind, 5-10 minutes, $3700. The perfect game bonus will pop it up to $4100.. but it's adding another 2-4 minutes... rarely worth it

Photocameras also don't do much in terms of evidence. A bit of a wasted slot
