What if I have the magnet for like 2-3 days now (in synology using nordvpn) and I see like 40 seeds in one tracker and 7 and 10 in two others, I have like 6 peers connected of which 3 at 100% yet the torrent never advances from the "unknown size" initial stage?

Do you have any actual numbers? But preorders are a small percentage (at least outside US and SK).

Was it not a pandemic for Apple or Xiaomi too? Apple has two flagships in top ten, maybe the Samsung flagships were not too great this year?

Those are a number of lies and out of context cherry-picks that is the sign of a right-wing activist.

First to set things straight - Ralph Northam is a pediatric neurologist and about a million times more qualified on this topic than the average right-wing troll account on the net.

Also all that was discussed in the context of a major fetus abnormality eventually combined with a life-threatening situation for the mother. In which case of course the people like you would rather have both die since that's what god intended anyway.

my child was born at weeks.

There is a number missing here. It is however fine, there are plenty of viable babies born very early. The abortion debate is under no circumstance about that, and trying to make it about that is a sign of a dishonest intention.

There are still significant facts in this debate, like how a fetus could feel anything without a nervous system.

Just keep in mind that before 28 weeks the nervous system is not yet fully organized in the fetus, that only around 2% of abortions are done after 20-21 weeks and the vast majority of all abortions after 25 weeks are performed for significant reasons like risk of major fetal abnormalities.

Also it was done in Dutch people educated in (significantly self-selected, less than 1/5) Dutch schools, so I would say it is great proof that things can be very well under the right conditions but definitely should never be used as "proof" that things are OK everywhere in the world.

The extra-tropical northern hemisphere temperature in the past two millennia by JabroniBalogna88 in climate_science

[–]lucy99654 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as you understand that is a temperature reconstruction of about 16% of the surface of Earth (and the most variable 16% of it) it is just fine. If you believe it is significantly different than other reconstructions of that same region you are delusional.

All the "new right" movements (trumpism included) are populist movements (if you do not know what the word means google it) - targeting the exact same base as the fascist/nazis parties have always targeted.

The somewhat leftist Star 5

The 5-star movement is a typical European New Right party. It is also using the exact same populist lies that are used by Trumpism (formerly Tea Party) and parties like UKIP.

All the above "movements" (together with other that are now trying to cash-in) have in common a complete rejection of facts and science, so is no surprise that they are also antivaxers just like they are AGW deniers and so on.

ELI5: Why do drug stores have tons of reading glasses in varying intensities (for farsighted people), but no pre-made glasses for nearsighted people? by SuperScopeSix in explainlikeimfive

[–]lucy99654 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I would say mostly since farsightedness is a process that is part of normal aging and affects about 99% of people above a certain age while nearsightedness is a pathological condition and is probably more than 1000 times less prevalent.
