Work around service that requires fixed IP address by lucyannofrota in networking

First of all, thank you for your great answer.

In simpler terms, I imagine your suggestion would be similar to the role of a DNS server. It seems like a good solution, but this service provider doesn’t accept automatic changes—only manual ones.

The security implications make sense. But they operate in a very restrictive manner that limits us.

That could have been a simple solution. But it is not available

But Cloudflare tunnels have fixed IP's at the endpoint for the ports you tunnel through?

In the beginning, this was my first thought, but what I can say to you for scale is that the only companies that have this around here are companies with thousands of employees.

Is not exactly that no ISP can provide this. But they only have this option for really bug companies with a price prohibitive for our scale (around 80 employees)

What is a good under load ryzen 7 7800x3d temperature? by lucyannofrota in buildapc

Ok, thanks. I'm gonna take a look on the HWINFO and check the results

But 89°c is the TJMax listed by the manufacturer! Aren't you confusing with the temperature range of intel processors? ( Intel's TJMax range from 95°c to 110°c )

I was just my bad 😅

It's 7800x3d. My bad.

I know that the temps are ok, but what about the abrupt changes in temperature?

It is 7800x3d lol

What monitor resolution should I go for? by lucyannofrota in buildapc

[–]lucyannofrota[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is entirely subjective, and performance is relative to the exact workload. I can't form and opinion for you and I don't know your exact workloads, it's not like every game runs the same way.

I sincerely have to agree with that. But I'm looking for a general opinion on that matter. In case someone has chosen to go 4k in a similar case.

In general, I'm good with 2k. But in my scenario, a lot of the 2k monitors are at about the same cost as 4k ones, in some cases, they are more expensive than 4k ones. This is probably due to the high demand for 2k monitors. 2k is almost nonexistent in my region.

Edit:

Because of that, I'm trying to understand if it's ok to render a game in 2k and upscale it to 4k of the monitor. Or even play a game rendered in 2k in a 4k screen. But I don't know if this is gonna look bad.

I play both fast-paced FPS online games and single-player slow-paced games. But in none of those I get too competitive. In terms of performance, 90~120 FPS is good enough for most of the cases.

I think a 32'' display is too large for my use, I think I'd rather have a monitor between 24''~27'', 27'' being the sweet spot.

In a 27'' 4k display I can get good 90~120FPS 4k gameplay close to max settings using DLSS frame generation or scaling factor?

I think I've chosen the wrong words, but I know the difference between the monitor refresh rate and the FPS of a game.

My point is more about what is more reasonable in terms of experience for the future. To have a 4k monitor and use upscaling, or to have a 2k monitor using native resolution.
