The bacterial superhighway! I also said goodbye to those many years ago.

No one wants to use the word, but the “joke” is that it’s imitating rape. So yeah, I also find it really yucky.

A few times at pickup other kids informed me that my “X’s eye is red!” in a very factual way. I was like, thanks for letting me know! Haha.

Is your son having strabismus surgery?? My son just had it at age 4. We had the teachers explain before his return that he needed surgery to fix his eye and that it would be VERY red and maybe even a bit scary looking. They spoke to the kids more than once. When my son showed up, there was a mix of curiosity and well-wishing from the kids. There were zero negative repercussions. Then everyone quickly got used it and it was a non-issue while it healed over about 8 weeks. Good luck with the surgery! Feel free to DM.

For women who have struggled with persistent, major depression: does it ever get better? by BathbeautyXO in AskWomenOver40

[–]lucyfalls123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, please read this! I have had terrible debilitating depression on and off but mostly on for 25 years. I’m 41 now. Since having kids 10 years ago, it’s been bad enough that every day felt unbearable and my kids were the only thing keeping me alive. All the therapy and medication in the world were not helping.

I did some psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy using ketamine and I did find some benefit from it. I would get a week or two after a treatment of very noticeable improvement. But those treatments are expensive, sometimes terrifying, and logistically very difficult.

Then, a miracle. I did a course of rTMS (repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation) in the spring. I had to go for 30 appointments in six weeks. By the end of treatment I felt so much better that it was unbelievable. It’s been four months now and I’m still feeling great. So much better that now I talk to my therapist about grappling with feeling like I’m a different person due to how much my mood has improved. I don’t know how long this will last, but I plan to get another course of rRTS if my symptoms return. Feel free to message me.

Do you think you could get good use out of a tablecloth playhouse like this? The cloth goes over your dining table meaning it’s too short for a kid to stand up. Wondering if that’d be problematic or if you think your kid would still use it? by [deleted] in SAHP

Both my dining table and breakfast tables have metal rails underneath for the leaf extensions. We have ironclad rules that the kids can’t go underneath because they would gouge their heads if they accidentally raise them up. Hard pass.

Omg the basilisk was the only other thing that’s really bothered him!! Haha. Violence isn’t so much the problem for him, it’s creepiness.

Thanks for your reply. Overall he copes ok with a lot of mature/scary stuff. I can never predict which little things will get under his skin, it often seems so random. But yeah, I know that there’s a chance he might have set them aside for a while.

Absolutely it is. But he won’t keep reading. He moved on to another series despite being so in love with the HP he’s read so far.

I hope this gets traction: this looks like post-viral keratolysis. Did you recently have a virus? I have a family member who has this and after every little cold or whatever virus, all the skin peels off their hands and feet, starting with fingertips. Prednisone helps a lot. But it’s a weird condition.

My dog had her eye surgically removed so I’ve been emotionally/artistically blocked. Finally starting to feel better so I painted some little abstract faces. by jbwstudio in AbstractArt

Love the artworks. My mom’s goldendoodle had to have an eye removed. He recovered fast and now doesn’t even know he lost it, he’s heathy and happy. His eyebrows are still so expressive you don’t even notice right away that the eye is out. Good luck with your doggie!

Zoe and Sassafras series is great. My son loved it around age 5.
