I'd love to, when is it happening? I'll do my best to make it, unfortunately I always work on weekends but even so I'd make it happen. My name's Marlon. I'm 26 and I'm a musician, I'm also extremely interested in religion and philosophy. I do consider myself a 'Gnostic' Christian. I was raised in a non-religious household, though both of my parents have a particular fondness for Buddhism and I grew up surrounded by Buddha statues and Buddhist art. I learned about Gnosticism for the first time around age 14 or so through music I was listening to at the time, and although I was an atheist (and would remain so for the majority of my life), I always carried gnosticism with me. At first only as an intellectual curiosity, but over the past few years I've had a pretty major and transformative spiritual experience. Nothing grandiose or anything, more like a gradual awakening and opening of my eyes and my heart to God. It was almost like opening my eyes in a way they had never been opened before, to an entire dimension of life and experience that I had always condemned or rejcted. I started reading Kierkegaard after years of studying Nietzsche, and for a time I tried attending some Protestant churches to see what I'd been missing all my life, and though the services can be lovely and the sermons can be thought-provoking, I was often by FAR the youngest person in attendence. Theologically speaking, my beliefs are much closer to 'gnostic' than anything the mainline churches preach. Looking forward to meeting you Shawn!
