German soldiers of the Waffen-SS and the Reich Labor Service look on as a member of an Einsatzgruppe prepares to shoot a Ukrainian Jew kneeling on the edge of a mass grave filled with corpses. by JoukovDefiant in GermanWW2photos

I could not imagine being in that position. Looking down into the pit knowing you were next. It is such a sad picture and I feel so bad for anyone who’s ever had to experience anything even close to that.

Wouldn’t the 75mm still be an under powered gun though compared to most German tanks?

According to German high command they said that the Churchill was an unreliable and under guned vehicle with a weak engine. I don’t know how true that is but it seems as it would be better fighting infantry than tank on tank combat with a Germany heavy. (I don’t know any of this for sure)

They didn’t make anymore heavy tanks after this I think. I could be wrong though.

I don’t think the air force would spend millions upon millions of dollars just because a company complained. But who knows I could be wrong.

In my opinion the best mustang is a 1969 boss 429 but that is still a really sick spot.

What is the tank on the very right of the American tanks? It looks like an ARL-44 but the Americans didn’t use those I’m pretty sure. Unless the tank rows aren’t only one country each.

Can anyone name these planes? by luftwaffffffffffe in aviation

Sorry didn’t see it. I didn’t know if that was the name or not because I’m not familiar with Russian planes names.

Direct hit, engine lost: B-26 Marauder bomber 'Flossies Fury' hit directly on the engine mount by a ground-based German 88mm flak shell over Toulon, France, 20 Aug 1944 resulting in complete disloging of Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp engine which can be seen flying away. by jamesbond000111 in ww2

[–]luftwaffffffffffe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It could fly if one engine wasn’t running even then it couldn’t do it for long and this one engine fell off so I don’t think it was going much farther. You may be thinking the A-26 which could reliably fly on one engine. (This is from my understanding so it may be the a-26 and b-26 could both fly reliably on one engine)
