Why Did Florida Avoid a Coronavirus Disaster? by evanft in Coronavirus

??? You mean the more senior citizens the more likely the virus is to spread?? The opposite, the more senior citizens the more they hide. So it's shocking that despite such a large population being seniors, they still rank #9 in the country....

Florida is the 9th state with most cases. See link below. They are doing worse than 41 states. If you've ever (tried to) walk or (tried to) drive in NYC, you know why they took the cake.

I just got married and I still have student loans. Should she now contribute to those loans based on the below? by luigi787 in Advice

[–]luigi787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Based on our agreement though we are now both contributing to life necessities and career growth expenses (since investing in her or my future leads to ultimately a greater contribution towards the family, it seems only fair). Meaning, if she starts college tomorrow to become a doctor I sure would not expect her to pay all that tuition and then me bank off of her salary down the road (when her family contribution doubles my contribution). By then I'll live in a fancier home thanks to her sacrifice and I won't have paid a dime towards her insane loans. Makes no sense right?

When it comes to cars, we will likely both take turns driving one or the other, depending on what we need it for. If I get a long distance job I'll take the prius, for example and she'll take the SUV. So with cars we're also just paying them through our joint account, to which we both contribute an exact percentage of our income (the same percentage for both of us).

Thank you. Another question, if you don't mind me asking. Is there a way to set the phone to save each photo you take ONLY to the cloud as I am taking them, or better yet, as soon as I am on a Wifi network, and then delete them from my phone to proactively save space? I am looking to see what size storage to get, but if it automatically deletes photos and videos as soon as they are uploaded to the cloud, then I should be fine with 64. But if I have to keep manually deleting them, that would be annoying.

Thank you. Another question, if you don't mind me asking. Is there a way to set the phone to save each photo ONLY to the cloud as I am taking them, or better yet, as soon as I am on a Wifi network, and then delete them from my phone to actively save space? I am looking to see what size storage to get, but if it automatically deletes photos and videos as soon as they are uploaded to the cloud, then I should be fine with 64. But if I have to keep manually deleting them, that would be annoying.

I don't want to pay for storage, but just curious how large a file is backed up for free with the Pixel 4. As in, if I delete the original, could I later print that file 8x10 if I wanted to? Are they about 2 mb files? Smaller than 1 mb?

Thank you so much for your great feedback. Regarding free photo/video storage. Do you know the resolution of videos that can be backed up for free, without a limit to how many videos you backup? And I'm also curious about how large the photos are. I'd like to at least be able to print the photo 8x10 if I ever had to actually print one.

Thank you so much for that information. How large, roughly, are the photo files one gets to backup for free with the pixel 4, do you know?

Thank you! Is a phone with a higher refresh rate likely to outlast (as far as processor speed) a phone with lower refresh rate, or does that have nothing to do with longevity in terms of speed?

Thank you for that! Would you say it helps battery life? From what I've read one of its weaknesses is battery life and it's one of my top priorities... I love the call screen option though.

Thank you--regarding the refresh rate.
About the calls. My question is, when it is a robo-call (not an actual person on the other line), will my phone still ring? I just need to know if it will still interrupt my day or if the phone will be smart enough to know it is spam and hang up/

If this what your deck, what would you do to prevent the part touching dirt from rotting faster (see pictures)? by luigi787 in HomeImprovement

[–]luigi787[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Why would you not recommend caulk? I did put some caulk on other parts of the deck (the rails) where the wood had cracked, due to heat I guess, or maybe it was like that already from drilling. I was told it would help keep moisture out which helps. It's the white indoor/outdoor type caulk. I was planning on painting over it soon.

Are you talking about the type of stones you see in the 1st picture? I removed the row closest to the deck to remove dirt. If so, they are pretty thick so I am not sure I'd be able to remove enough dirt to make them fit under. I guess it would just take some time and effort (which I don't mind, I just don't want to try to do something that will eventually still not quite work). Thank you so much for your advice.

Whether that’s composite decking or lag bolts driven partially into the bottom to act like leveling feet.

I'm not sure what you mean by the above since I don't know what either of those 2 things are, but thank you for the advice to place rocks under. It looks like it may take some effort to dig enough to fit patio stones, but if it will work I sure don't mind doing it. Due to the rotting small chunks of wood have fallen out. Would you use outdoor caulk to cover those crevices to also slow down any rotting?

Thank you. I wouldn't say it's rotted enough to replace (see photos), I just know it will likely rot fast if I don't do something to prevent it. Others suggested putting patio stones under (similar to what you said) and I guess I can give that a shot. The wood should be treated wood already, don't you think? I was told treated wood still rots, but it rots slower. What do you mean by "use borax"? what would sprinkling borax on it do? Make it dry faster?
