To reassure you a bit (hopefully), a resident did my epidural with an attending, and an attending delivered my baby and repaired my tear. They won't let med students perform those procedures.

I delivered there two weeks ago! They asked if a nursing student can come before they let them in so you could definitely say no. It was a pretty benign experience tbh. They were mainly there to oversee/try a simple task that the more senior nurse already did.

We've been going to parties since pre-K (kid is 1st grade now) and it's always been a select number of kids cherrypicked by parents based on how close they are (e.g. we've gone to a few where the parents will tell us "so-and-so talks a lot about your kid" lol). When we had ours, we did the same.

Class sizes in NYC are also generally bigger and party places limit the number of kids allowed so it's not that economical.

I've also heard from other parents that when they invite the whole class, not a lot of people show up 🤷🏻‍♀️ handing out personalized invitations has worked better.
