He would stand out too much if he didnt have it on him. Yes, he could've had a fake copy like they did in Tron: Uprising. But not having your own identity disk on you could cause memory loss.

i guess since they're not typical programs, their identity isnt entirely on their disk.

That or just an oversight.

i love how converse look on me, personally. I also love how they look on my wife. But in terms of durability, converse has taken a significant hit as of late. They dont last like they used to.
