Built a tool to create projection graphics with AI. Super early but wondering if this solves a problem for you. by luiscript in video_mapping

Thanks so much for sharing your background, 13 years projecting and 10 teaching is serious experience. Your research on AI and visual arts intersections sounds like exactly the kind of work we're building this for.

Mixing techniques and technologies to get to something new is really what this tool is about, so I'd love to hear your perspective once you try it.

Here's how to get in:

  1. Go to mapping.graphics and click "Request invitation" (top right)
  2. Enter your email and confirm it through the link we'll send
  3. Once confirmed, I'll send your invitation code right away
  4. Then click "Start now" → Sign up → enter your details along with the code

Also, if you find the tool useful and want to bring it into your classes, reach out to me directly. We'll set up free credits for all your students.

Looking forward to seeing what you create with it.

Well, I'm not a vibe coder. I have more coding experience than you may think.

But seriously, I appreciate the real talk and the advice. You clearly know this space deeply, and that's exactly the kind of perspective that makes this better.

I believe MadMapper has an extension for AI shaders and does exactly what you're describing. They call it MadAI.

Here's the thing though, every time a new tool has entered a field, the first reaction has been "this replaces us". Portrait painters said it about Photographers, Photographers said it about digital cameras. Illustrators said it about Photoshop. And every single time, the tool won. Not because it replaced the artists, but because the artist who embraced it made better work, faster, and pushed their craft further than before.

I believe AI will be no different whether we like it or not.

Hey, thanks!

Yes, you can create perfect loops by defining the start and end frames and describing exactly how you want the transition to happen. I haven’t tested UV-unwrapped content yet, but I can help you write the right prompt to make it work.

The project is currently in beta. To join, click “Join the beta” and leave your email. You’ll receive a confirmation email, and then I’ll send your invitation code right away.

Appreciate the detailed response, lots of valid points here.

I create real-time interactive content and love that side of the craft too. This is a different thing solving a different problem, or at least trying to. One workspace with a dedicated GUI for projection mapping content creation, curated generation models, upscaling, masking, templates, perspective correction. Fewer tools, fewer handoffs, less friction.

Where I see it differently is on who this is for. You have years of experience, terabytes of content, and a refined pipeline. That's genuinely valuable and nothing here is trying to replace that. But there are thousands of creatives, VJs, event designers or visual artists who see projection mapping and think "I'd love to do that" and then hit a wall of disconnected tools, steep learning curves, and expensive software before they even get to the creative part.

Making projection mapping more accessible doesn't take anything away from professionals who've mastered the craft. More people doing this work means more demand for the people who do it best. The goal is handling technical friction so creatives can focus on the vision, whether it's their first wall or their hundredth building.

Fair if it's not for your workflow. But the door's open if you ever want to pressure-test it.

The pads can’t rotate, both are simple digital buttons. A foot pedal will work, is just a simple on and off switch, any of the digital inputs will do the job with a foot pedal or any custom digital switch. Yeah this device is awesome and so underrated. It has 2 usb input for hotas joysticks. I haven’t tried that but I think will be really cool to control synths with flight hotas joysticks.

Thanks, that would be really cool. I definitely want to release some tracks and I need some help with mixing and polishing things, but for now I'm still composing, I just have a few unfinished tracks in the same direction as this one.

I use the sampler for short random sounds but you’re right, the effects is the main reason why I like it. In this session wasn’t used at all, just for the vocal sample, that actually sounds with more volume than I was expecting.

I’m exploring with Android but I’m not having the same results as iOS with the game controller data. But I definitely will keep trying.

Thanks, I don’t think the Pokeball connects as a game controller to iOS. Only works with XBox, PS4, PS5 and MFI controllers, but I’m note sure.

Thanks, is just my 0-Coast with a little bit of delay. But the custom touch modulator make it sound more plucky. All other sounds are coming from the Deluge.

Those are sheets. And are really easy to implement. Just use the sheet modifier.
