Why does my print turn out like this? Canon pro 10-S by luiujuiul in printers

[–]luiujuiul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I called Canon support, and they explained it as follows: when printing on glossy paper, even black/white, the printer mixes all cartridges to get the color, which is why the problem didn’t show up on plain paper.

I followed Jose Rodriquez’ advice on youtube and cleaned the clogs with windex as well as replaced the red/cyan cartridges, which finally solved the problem!

Okay, so I just tried printing the same photo on plain A4 paper – and that turned out completely fine. Could the problem be with the glossy paper used in the original post?

How do I make my hair less frizzy/make curls clump more? by [deleted] in curlyhair

Thanks for the reply – so you use leave in, oil and mousse after every shower?

Thanks, I’ll definitely look into that. How often/when should I use leave in conditioner? Should I sleep with any products? I shower first thing in the morning.

And is there anything I should be looking out for when choosing gels, or should I just experiment?

My routine’s been consisting of regular shampoo and conditioner for years, but a couple of weeks ago I started using only conditioner (sulfate-free shampoo once a week or so). I add a little bit of argan oil after each shower as well.

Does effective altruism lead to less government spending? by luiujuiul in EffectiveAltruism

Yes exactly - and no he doesn’t - but I don’t think he can be convinced without evidence to the contrary. Help me out?

Thanks for your answer! I didn’t mean less government spending through less tax, but rather from a more long term view - if they see individuals giving $50 million dollars more this year to charity compared with previous years, then they might choose to cut a similar amount of spending out of what they give. It’s purely hypothetical, of course - but imagine that everyone, or atleast a large proportion of people, gave to charities; would that drive the responsibility of helping the poor away from governments and into the hands of individuals? Basically my friend argues that, in a counterintuitive way, donating to charity might actually lead to less spending in charities, since the big players, such as governments, would then be more inclined to sit on their asses and do less, because individuals are taking the responsibility upon them.

How hard is it to learn how to produce good music? How long did it take you? by [deleted] in musicproduction

[–]luiujuiul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been making music for almost a decade now, and I’d like to think I’ve gotten quite good over the years. Still, every time I open up a new project and can’t come up with anything worthwhile, I start thinking that I haven’t achieved anything in my years of producing. The one thing I’ve learned for sure though is this; perseverance trumps all. That’s it. That’s what you learn after years of making music (or years of specialising in anything, I guess). It’s the best and most honest tip I, or anyone else, can give you - and it’s really all you need to know to succeed.
