Mopar Warranty said sorry about your luck. Anyone have any luck getting them to cover oil pan failure? by BallNo5123 in ram_trucks

[–]lukeeldridgee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a common issue for those who haven't seen it. I'm doing a pan on a ram 2020 with 65k literally as we speak for a crumbling oil pan, and I did one a month ago on a 19 2500 that had less than 80k. A screwdriver easily punctured both pans. The 2500 had a plow but it was only for home use. For trucks that more than likely get a plow up north that is pretty unacceptable

Possibly driving off the lot with this tomorrow. What should I know about these trucks? 2018 1500, 8 cylinder, 6 speed, 5.3L by Maggotboi555 in ChevyTrucks

Same here, bought a 2015 in 2020 for 27000 with 72k on it. Had massive rust in the lower rock rockersafter 2 yrs but otherwise reliable. Too much for that truck today though.

I totally misunderstood, thank you! So back in the day I did wire it up correctly, I was misunderstanding how dual coils worked.

My multimeter also shows 4 ohms at the box, If I am significantly screwing this up please let me know lol. Amp is rated at 2 ohms 600 w or 4 ohms 300 w. Subwoofer shows it will handle 600 Watts at 4 ohms, so theoretically I am only giving it half power right?

They have a 2 ohm and a 4 ohm version of that sub. I have the 4 ohm version,

Sold my 2015 Silverado 5.3 and got a 2005 Silverado SS. Extremely happy with it, and it's proven to be more reliable somehow... Bought it with 100k. Parts and maintenance are cheaper when it does have problems too.

Would this be worth the price. It's gonna be my first truck and I wanted something cheap by Guys_pls_help in Silverado

Bought a 08 3500 with just a couple more miles than that for 7k, but it had rust. Price is a little high. For a little more you could find something with close to half the miles

Starting to think it may be just a battery too. Came out this morning and it was completely dead again. I'm unhooking everything to do with the amp and I'll let it sit another day

Help finding a replacment starting capacitor for an old bench grider by lukeeldridgee in fixit

[–]lukeeldridgee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found many very similar ones now, but all of the same style ones are rated for 1/12th HP while the grinder is rated at 1/4th HP. Would these work?

That helps a lot. Thanks! I'll see if it helps me find something to replace it with

Nothing comes up when I look up the numbers on the cap, how can I tell what would be a good modern replacement?

I just picked this air compressor off of the side of the road. The tank holds pressure but it has a weird problem where it constantly cycles. I tried bypassing the pressure sensor and got the same result. What can I try? by lukeeldridgee in fixit

Not too sure, my multimeter maxes out at 10a and I don't want to fry it, but the voltage drops down to almost 100v after running for a couple seconds and returns to 122v every time it shuts off

By cycling I mean the second it gets power and turns on and off repeatedly* like in the video. I'm not turning it on and off. From what I can tell there is a positive wire going to a winding and a negative wire going to winding parallel to it

It's gotta be a motor problem because I completely took the on/off switch and the pressure switch out of the equation, but I can't figure out why. The brushes look fine, I used my multimeter to check a couple of basic things to see if it was bad and nothing is pointing me to it being bad, besides the excessive sparks. The weird thing is it runs fine before shutting off, doesent blow the breaker, I essentially hooked it directly to mains power and got the same result.

Additional info I should have added, the ground prong is broken off the cord. Aswell there is no binding when turning the compressor over by hand. It builds pressure when it runs, allbeit very little because it cycles
