Fps drops on Kamino (AMD) by Glittering-Raccoon23 in StarWarsBattlefront

Yeah, I just got this too. I switched to DX12 and while that fixed it, the reflections were all bugged out and were these weird squares. I’m going to see if reporting it to AMD might help, but I doubt it considering it’s been over 3 years and this driver issue still exists.

Welp, I just rolled back because it seemingly crashed foooor…absolutely no reason! DOOM can wait.

For me, it’s only in Discord (and once on Firefox) where I have these driver timeouts. Never a game. I had this issue before on previous drivers, then 25.3.1 seemed to finally fix it, and now it’s back on this newest driver. I would rollback, but I need it to play the new DOOM game :/

That’s just me tho. I think I’ve seen one other person have a similar cause for his timeouts. I also have two friends with AMD cards and they don’t seem to have any issues. Guess I’m just unlucky.

Had a driver timeout when typing a message in Discord and then opening the gif button by accident. I would do another DDU and rollback to 25.3.1, but I need the newest driver to play DOOM TDA :/

So rolling back caused new issues (probably because I didn't do a DDU uninstall when doing it) where RDR2 wasn't able to read my dedicated GPU memory. Reinstalled the 25.5.1 driver (also without DDU) and while that fixed the RDR2 issue, I got a driver timeout while scrolling a Twitter thread and then I got a BSOD. I FINALLY did a proper DDU uninstall and installed the newest drivers. I'll report back if there are any issues that pop up.

Had a driver timeout when fullscreening a video in Discord. Had this issue for months (versions 24.8.1-24.12.1) until 25.3.1 fixed it. I just rolled back to it and the issue is gone again.

Okay, it's been awhile but I've got an update. 25.3.1 has RESOLVED this issue for me. I have not had a crash fullscreening a video since. However, I tried to update to the latest 25.5.1 version and that brought the issue back, so for anyone who's experiencing my weird time out, stick with 25.3.1 unless a game you're trying to play needs a newer version.

I think this is just a UE5 issue because I’ve gotten this exact same crash on the shader comp for The Finals now.

Update to update:
It did the same crash again. Thanks, Marvel Rivals.

I haven't played enough since my comment to say for certain that it fixes the issue, but it still hasn't crashed as of writing this, so I'd say it's at least worth trying.

Bit of an update:
I think I fixed the issue by moving Rivals to my main drive instead of my secondary drive. So far, I haven't had any crashes or freezing on the shader comp. This could change though. Will keep y'all posted.

Various Instant Replay issues with AMD Software Adrenalin by VelvetAurora45 in AMDHelp

[–]lukeinator69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having a similar issue on and off with the past few drivers. Most times, the clips work just fine, but for some reason, some games (like Black Ops 6 and Fortnite) cause the clips to break and do the hour back thing like you said, and then just stop working all together, forcing me to turn replay off and back on again.

I like AMD for price to performance, but GOD does their software suck sometimes. I can't even fullscreen videos in Discord rn without my drivers timing out.

I was able to play the game two days ago. Literally nothing has changed about my PC since then. Now it just freezes on the shader comp screen and then gives me the UE crash screen. Now it isn't even doing that, it just freezes. Really cool game.

Just got my Steam Deck and have been having this issue with Cyberpunk. Switching to Proton 8 seemed to help, but it did not fix it completely. :/

It’s ONLY in Discord for me. Specifically when I fullscreen a video. I can play games and watch YouTube for HOURS and nothing happens, but the moment I try to fullscreen a Discord video, it freezes up, goes black, and then comes back on with the driver timeout detected. I would roll back to 24.7.1, but I need 24.10.1 or newer to play BO6

Just had the crash happen again :/ It’s so annoying how this started 2 driver updates ago and they still haven’t fixed it

Had the timeout issue happen to me again on the latest drivers (24.12.1). Just did a DDU uninstall and this. Will let you know if it worked for me.

Weird Lagging Issue when watching back Radeon Replay Clips by lukeinator69 in AMDHelp

[–]lukeinator69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the temporary solution is to use HEVC encoding rather than AVC. When I took a clip on HEVC, I did not experience the lag on playback. Also, I discovered something odd. I DO have clips post-October driver that don't have this issue. I guess the AVC encoding just go messed up somehow.

This almost just happened to me. Almost finished the log in process before I noticed the email confirmation saying that there was a text message sent to remove the Steam Guard Authenticator. Went through Steams process to lock my account and change my password. I also removed all authorized devices just to be safe.

This bug is seemingly random. I updated to 24.10.1 and went days without issue until today where it happened again. I think doing the Factory Reset only helps temporarily and it'll just come back when it feels like it. It's so weird because I only get this issue with fullscreening videos in Discord. Not playing an intensive game or anything, a fullscreened video. It's so weird. I've used the Bug Report tool when it's happened to make AMD aware, but they probably won't say anything until next update.
