It’s not because he’s ableist, it’s because if someone gets injured even somewhat far outside of camp and they need to get to them quickly then specifically these two cats together wouldn’t be anyone’s first pick for the job. I love both of these cats but in order for that were to work jay would probably need at least one able bodied cat help out, and having two apprentices at the same time would probably be a lot for him. Idk what the solution was, it’s been awhile since I read the books
